What features do people want on their NEXT cellphone?

Trivia question: What features do people want on their next cellphone?

Number 1 answer was better digital cameras.

What's number 2?

BigBen 07-11-2008 02:37 PM

Live video messaging.

I use the phone, sometimes the camera, the texting and the email. It's all I need. It's all I want. My Dad asked me last night what things my phone did and I said "about 100 things more than I need it to do". :)

I have a friend would left a company and turned in her company BB - she said she was totally lost w/o the calendar. I have never even opened, yet alone used my calendar!!

Kathi from NatNet had to teach me how to find messages a few weeks ago and I've had this phone for about a year..........

I just got a new phone, HTC Touch and it does all those you have in your poll and more.

I upgraded from a Treo and am sooooo much happier. I'll upgrade to the Touch Diamond when it comes out, but for now I'm more than happy with my new phone.

With regard to the "easier texting" option,

isn't there a cellphone out there that flips out at both ends and actually becomes a full keyboard? (albeit smaller than an actual keyboard, but same idea)

I want to no bells and whistles just good consistent reception. No dropped calls and to be able to have a calling signal anywhere. I live in a suburb of atl not in the sticks and I get shit reception. I visit my friend in jasper in the fucking sticks and I get full bars. The end of my rant.

You come to Jasper?!?? I'd love to see you and Mandy - lunch/dinner on me :thumbsup

Dagwolf 07-11-2008 05:09 PM

I want one that lets me talk to people a long way off. Oh wait..

Peaches 07-11-2008 05:10 PM

Oh, and I where I live, you cannot get access on any other service except ATT/Cingular. And that's only because we have a cell tower on our mountain. But once you get to my house, even that's a crapshoot. I miss calls all the time that I never see until I leave the subdivision (and only those because Kathi showed me how to see them, lol). But some I think disappear into neverland. I had my landline go out once and I had to walk up my road in order to call in a repair order on the cell - and seriously, I can see the tower from my house.

I need it to do the dishes...If it can't do that than I have no use for it.

Kudles 07-11-2008 08:43 PM

V_RocKs 07-11-2008 08:49 PM

Tmo hotspot@home. No tower? No problem, it'll make voice calls via your wireless internet connection. In addition to the coverage, any calls you make via Wifi instead of a cell tower dont come out of your minute bucket. So you effectively have unlimited anytime minutes at home.

ProducerCashDave 07-11-2008 11:17 PM

Better camera/video quality

A lot of phones FAIL to put a high quality camera/video feature

Raym 07-11-2008 11:28 PM

I would settle for no dropped calls. I can't even use my cell at my house.

I just went blackberry shopping yesterday and I'm not kidding, they had a phone there with a built in taser to electrocute "could-be" attackers.

All I could think of is zapping myself by accident.... :helpme I'm a klutz.

You know, I would never even have thought of that feature for a phone. I doubt we up in Canuckville will ever see it though, tasers for general public use aren't legal here.

I know a lot of women who wish they were though.

candyflip 07-13-2008 08:57 AM

My old phone didn't have GPS. That was something I wanted on the new one and got it.
