Um I'm not in the 35% tax bracket idiot. Try READING. Considering to be in the 35% tax bracket you have to have a AGI of $336,500 which means you really made at minimum $344,250. And the 35% only counts on income over that $336,550 AGI. Then no I wouldn't complain.
A single person with no deductions except standard and himself as a dependant who makes $350,000 in gross income pays $99,300 in income tax or 28.4% despite being in the so called "35%" backet. He would also pay $5075 in medicare taxes and $6324 in SS taxes. For a total of $239,000 in take home pay. Of course those that are married and/or have children and other deductions would pay even LESS in taxes. So yes I could very EASILY very comfortably ANYWHERE in the US on $239,000 a year if I was single and had no kids. As I said married couple with 2 kids would have even MORE take home pay ( at minimum $255,000 ) so they too could live very comfortably.
