Exciting day for me today, about to go to Groningen, NL, to meet up with some friends, and a girl that I've been chatting to for the past few weeks - been chatting and texting eachother every day. She's very cute and have quite a few things in common.

Ever met anyone over the internet like this? And ifso, good experience?

A close (hungarian) friend of mine met a brazilian babe on Orkut (early spring 2006), after some months of chatting he traveled to Sao Paolo to meet her in person. Until that tome they communicated via "babelfish", this nice english-portugese translating stuff (but my friend learned portugese flawlessly in some months. He spent a month there, and the only cause why they didn't get married was the guy needed to have some papers about he does not have a wife in Europe.. So he came back, and in Oct 2006 they got married while my friend was in Hungary and the girl was in Sao Paolo (he sent paperwork earlier for this to be possible). The day after the "marriage" the wife arrived to Hungary, where they planned to spend some weeks than go to Hanoi (Vietnam) for a nice job opportunity. The some week project grew a year, the girl became pregnant. Their son was born on 1st Jan 1008 in Hanoi. They are very happy, and I miss them a lot...

I think there's a big difference in people's behavior online and real life. I met a few people and it just wasn't the same.

You just need to be careful, I've met some cool girls as well but most are "special".

but I've met some really good friends and business partners over the Internet(5years+).

i met a girl in person and we hooked up, then drifted apart.

bout a year later, i ran into her on the internet and we got back together.
been that way for bout 8 years now
