Do you think Bigfoot is real?

I've always been a skeptic because nobody has come forward with a body or any bones. Only bullshit castings of huge feet and a bunch of unfocused video clips.

But, after this past weekend in an area I've camped my entire life I'm kind of stumped as to what it could have been. Unless there is some animal I don't know about in the northern California wilderness that can chuck 5 pound boulders and move 100 pound rocks there is no other explanation.

Enough BS I'll just tell you guys what happened.

So I'm camping with the family, we take a trip once every year. We like to fish so we decided to camp near a stream about 15-20 miles out from West Point, CA. It's down an old logging road and maybe 1-2 people have camped there in the last 6 months from what we can tell. Well we decided to drive a little further down this old logging road which now has little trees growing in the middle of it.

So we get there and park the truck. We walk a couple hundred yards in each direction up and down the creek trying to find a good place for our tents. Anyway, we ended up finding a spot a couple hundred yards from the truck. So we hike all the ice chests, tents, etc.. Down to where were camping. We are at least 3-5 miles from any people. We didn't see any cars all the way from the ranger station at the top of the mountain to where we turned off of up on winton road.

Down in this valley where the creek flows it's a great place to camp. Anyway, the second night were there. Were all sitting around the fire and its getting late I decide to turn off the lantern and let the fire burn down. You can't really hear much other than the loudness of the waterfalls in the creek. So we have the entire family sitting around the fire, everyone wore out from the day of hiking, fishing, swimming, etc.. Not 10 seconds after I flip out the lantern which was illuminating our camp and the mountain side across the creek from our camp, a 5 pound fucking boulder makes a huge thud and smacks one of the legs of the table we had set out about 10 feet away from where we were sitting.

Keep in mind I've been camping my entire life I've spent probably a couple years of my life in the woods. Nothing has ever made the hair on the back of my neck stand up like that. Me being the logical person that I am first looks at the only person that would pull such a stunt, but turns out hes looking at me with the same dumbfounded look on his face. So at this point I grab a flashlight and search the ground around the table, figuring something fell off the table like a pot or a stove or some shit. There isn't anything laying on the ground, I mean if there was one time the entire weekend we were there that the camp was clean it was then. I looked around and thought maybe a fucking pine cone or something fell from one of the trees but there aren't any around anywhere. Just a big fucking boulder that flew in from across the creek. (we learned it came from across the creek by the dent the rock left in the leg of our new table we just bought on the way up there. It damn near creased the leg of the table in sideways.)

At this point I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing. I decide to go to bed and everyone else does as well. My tent is probably 150 feet from where the rest of the family is sharing a big tent, it was the only place I could find smooth enough to sleep on. Well still fresh on everyones mind about a fucking boulder getting thrown into your camp, naturally it's a little hard to sleep. About a half hour after everyone has gotten settled in and I'm just dozing off. All of the sudden we all hear a big crash, like something just picked up a 100 pound rock and threw it in the middle of the creek. It's an unmistakable sound if you've ever thrown a big rock in a pool of water.

Needless to say my family was pretty shaken up and I'll even admit I was as well. I've been in a lot of hairy situations and shit but theres something to be said about being in the middle of the woods a few miles from anyone and something is out there fucking with you. Also anyone on the board who knows me, knows I'm a pretty straight forward level headed person. I don't bullshit about things like this.

So this goes back to the question in the title, do you think bigfoot is real? After this weekend I'm leaning towards YES. :Oh crap

The more likely explanation is that it was a human, maybe you encroached on a marijuana field or a still or maybe someone just want scare the fuck outta you.

or maybe even a natural explanation the splash could easily have been a lerge boulder broken loose by the water fall and whatever hit your table could also have a natural explanation I dont know the topology of where you were but I would look at explanations like that before I would go down the bigfoot rute.

i know the area well as i hunt there.. there aren't any marijuana fields in that vicinity. also they would have to be superb climbers to scale that mountain side across the creek and very brave to run up on campers with guns.

if its worth anything i tried to throw a rock across the creek that was the same size as that rock that came into camp. i couldn't do it.

keep in mind there was no moon, it was pitch black, and the brush is thick as shit there. id love to see someone navigate that area and get close enough to throw that shit without the dog or one of us hearing them. no flashlight and shit? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

dude like i said im very familiar with the woods it just wasn't a person. there was no sign of people, nobody was up there, we didn't hear any cars the entire 4 days we were there.

I don't know about Bigfoot, but I saw Momo the Monster (similiar to Bigfoot's description in Missouri) near St Charles, Mo. one night.

Of course, I was pretty fucked up when I saw it, though I did see it standing off to the side of the road.

A mutual friend of ours dyastoned said this about your post....

"wow that's pretty typical ape behavior too when your invading their turf...chucking rocks and banging stick on trees. thats fucking tight or hes lost it and some hillbillys were fucking with them"

Pornwolf 07-02-2008 01:54 PM

Bigfoot?

Sure, I think he's real. He has many names, he's also called Batts in Austrailia.

i'm wondering about bigfoot's shoe size

stickyfingerz 07-02-2008 02:24 PM

I think he is real yes. They didn't discover Gorillas for years and said they were not real too till 1902.

polosas 07-02-2008 02:25 PM

bla bla bla

ProducerCashDave 07-02-2008 02:27 PM

IDK, but the story you explained sure sounded scary

Spunky 07-02-2008 04:48 PM

Freaky shit.I'm sure there could be some type of animal that we don't know about but many sightings were hoaxes so it's really hard to believe anything.you would think after all this time and heat technology they could be able to spot something if it was roaming around?

Eh you go back and there were stories about him told by Native Americans, pioneer people etc. Doubt many were much into making a hoax up.

RedShoe 07-02-2008 05:11 PM

I worked for the son of the guy that created the bigfoot suit that was filmed. So It's a definite NO from me.

IllTestYourGirls 07-02-2008 05:29 PM

Sure it can be real. They have found some dna samples in Canada.

Phoenix 07-02-2008 05:30 PM

who knows..very cool post though

its good to dream:)

Brother Bilo 07-02-2008 05:35 PM

I have a couple buddies that would regularly push large boulders down hills. It doesn't take much to break loose a hundered pound boulder, gravity does most of the work.

I'll believe it when I see it, like I do with Jebus.

D Ghost 07-02-2008 05:37 PM

weird huh

Phoenix 07-02-2008 05:48 PM

i just read everything on wikipedia on bigfoot..lol

Thought I remembered something about the person that said it was a hoax came out later and said it wasn't. Ill have to do some research on that.

Until they find the various "missing link" pieces in fossil form or capture it live I simply refuse to believe.

Although I believe certain types of people are simply closer to the apes than I am there's just too many pieces missing for me to really believe we evolved from apes.

I don't know where we came from but I can't believe we evolved from apes with whats currently provided. I also find the bible hard to believe due to lack of scientific proof.

I believe what I can see but nobody has good enough evidence on our origins.

VeriSexy 07-02-2008 06:32 PM

Until this is solid evidence.. no

Big Red Machine 07-02-2008 06:54 PM
