Paparazzi

What do you all think about Paparazzi. I'm one myself and I get allot of shit from people. Some people love us but most hate us and I get into allot of fights with pedestrians.

This is my viewpoint I'm shooting someone legally in a public place who chose to be famous and signed legal contracts saying they are a public figure and wave there privacy. We don't go into there house or shoot them indoors in private places. I get angry when I hear a whining celeb who complain about being photographed. This same celeb weeks earlier pimping themself out on Robertson.

Tonight I got attacked by some random dude and his GF. I got them off of me and was like WTF are you doing and all they said was your a piece of shit. They where mad because I was shooting Terra Reeds drunk ass leaving a nightclub. Sorry for the venting but it was an insane night.

Tough job... There still decent money left in the field?

I'd go nuts out shooting for months waiting to get a big break picture...

Not much money like the porn business too much competition. I'm stuck in it since it's my only job right now.

How much do you normally get paid/ whats your best pay day?

I fully understand where you're coming from but this is how I feel about it.

I photograph a lot of celebrities and pro athletes but only on their professional time and not their personal time. You can argue that since they are famous they're in the public eye and that opens them up to 24 / 7 access. I don't feel that way. If they're not working or doing a public event etc I think they should be left alone to do whatever they wish in their personal lives. Some celebrities like Britney Spears want and seek the attention while others like Julia Roberts don't. I would use discretion and have on many occasions.

For me the best way to understand was to mentally step into their shoes for awhile and see how long it would take me to get annoyed. It's not part of my nature to do something to someone else that I'm not willing to do to myself.

Paparazzi may have the right to photograph them but that doesn't make it right :winkwink:

They need Paparazzi!

Kudles 07-02-2008 12:55 PM

TubeTitans_SusieQ 07-02-2008 12:57 PM

do what you gotta do man...

My theory is that that business will be self sustaining shortly. It already has it's own created "celebs". (like lindsay lohans MOM and shit like that who nobody ever cared about, nor would they have without gossip papers)

dev777 07-02-2008 02:30 PM

Im no paparazzi but people give me shit all the time. Call it video journalism... I film people who generally dont like being filmed, despite it being perfectly legal.

I've seen the video of the recent showdown between Malibu surfers and the paparazzi - that really pissed me off. People seem to always have this idiotic belief that its illegal to take someones picture in public, and if you do this, it gives them the right to physically stop you.

I'd suggest carrying a big ass can of mace and use as needed

I love papparazi photos. i check out new candid photos of my favorite stars everyday.

i like how the pics are so high res you can see everything, every single pore, you can even see when a celeb has something stuck between their teeth (like happened to lindsay lohan once and also britney spears.) one time they even captured dirt under Lohan's fingernail.

I think celebs deserve it, when they are in the public eye thats what happens. papparazi pics are there due to the demand, the public demands it and there is a market for it. I dont think paps are vultures, they are just there to cater to the marketplace.

That is the price of fame.

i hate paparazzi .....

k0nr4d 07-02-2008 03:02 PM

I fuckin hate paparazzi. Sometimes I can barely get through them all crowding around me to take photos and into my car...life's tough being a gfy coder :(

PiffStenis 07-02-2008 10:33 PM

I hate paparazzi. Celebs are entitled to their private time same as anyone else. It being legal doesn't make it right.

eroticsexxx 07-02-2008 11:15 PM

I say that you should keep on doing your "do", Dave.

The people who "complain" are often the ones who have a conniption fit when they don't have paparazzi following them and then their friends who "don't get it" take it to the next level (as per your experience). Many stars are quite aware of how to completely disappear from the scene when they want to because they understand the nature of game.

What are your rates like? Looking for exclusive content for a LiLo blog. Got any Bday pics of her from tonight (last night to be technical)?

2012 07-02-2008 11:17 PM

seems like everyone is calling themselves "paparazzi" these days ... you just bought a camera

2012 07-02-2008 11:23 PM

seems like there are more and more of them ... they breed like flies ... ahhhhhhhhhh

dave90210 07-03-2008 03:18 AM

The candid pap stuff is where the money is at ;)

The indoor stuff is boring and Wire Image has monopoly on that. Most guys who shoot inside are on salary and the pay isn't that great. I like to be where the excitement is. I usually shoot where they want to be seen.
