Why do you think they make you use there latest version? can they not understand that people might actually like the old version, fucking reminds me of being spoon feed.

I hate it, I spent a lot of time a few months ago to find and install the old icq, the one I liked, now today I get a message saying I need to use the latest version, so with no option I install it and it's crap. what is wrong with these people lol.

what do you expect? AOL owns it and they know only adult webmasters and people in 3rd world countries use ICQ.

Trillian is good and has more list management features...
I got over 200 people in my ICQ list and I htink 3 of them are actually dead.

Pidgin made a patch and then released v2.4.3 a few hours ago. Still waiting for a fedora 8 update

Didnt like the latest one at all - gone back to 2003b

Got the same thing today but ICQ 6 won't even load. I just get a "Failed to init component error" so I had to install Netvigator ICQ 5.1 lite. The scroll at the bottom is in Japanese but at least it works.

I use ICQ through trillian. Never had a problem with it. Don't get all the bloat either.

Yeah this new one is shitty. It's all junk. I got the banner remover right away, which works fine. But it leaves the space for the banner. Wouldnt mind as much, except the message window minimum size seems to be more than double the old size. Going to have to hack it or something SIMPLY to make it useable!

It DID ask me if I wanted to migrate history, and it seemed to work. Took a half hour, but worked. But the default size thing is a deal breaker, and the fact that everyone feels they have to make everything with Flash these day's just makes it yet another resource hog.
