Surprised nobody posted this one yet. Not really any details, I'm having a hard time understand how a flash file can fit into the whole search engine model but at least it's progress. I've been interested in learning flash more, this gives me another reason to.

Good news for flash designers

it's nothing new about google indexing flash, i meet this on internet sometimes.

a screen reader Jaws which Blind computer users useing has able to read flash texts and buttons, so it's understandable to read flash by search engines too i think...

Regards.

Adobe Systems Inc. announced today that it is working with both Google and Yahoo to improve the search engine indexing of Flash (.SWF) files -- a capability search engines have had for years, but haven't used.

Search engine giants Google and Yahoo are utilizing Adobe's recently-updated Flash Player standard to help make Flash-based content searchable. Google has already launched its indexing mechanism, with Yahoo reportedly next in line to do the same.

Good read.
