Gallery spidering , good or bad
 

I notice a lot of new sites these days spidering galleries on exising tgp/mgp sites lately... Is this generally considered a good thing or bad thing?

It seems like they are stealing the content and hard work from existing sites that have built up the contacts with gallery producers. Spidering even allows you to not even have to approve the galleries, because someone already verified they are clean...

Any takers?

Most movie gallery posts are ran on the back of AOL's free homepage servers, so i don't feel bad for them at all.

Well I'm referring to the gallery posts NOT the free movies. If they are whoring out aol or Comcast, then its fair game. you cant really bitch about something your stealing anyway.

Funny thing is, I started a new MoviePost recently and asked some buddies to help feed it fresh traffic, so they posted it on there MGPS..... these are all pretty well known tgps, well anyways I was checking my logs and it was spidered like crazy, I was getting traffic from like 4 movie and picture sites using the same description and all!

It's a bad thing. Reviewing gallerys sucks bigtime ! If you steel links from the right people you might get sued.

Who gives a fuck if some small newbie sites are stealing a link lists?

Most of the gallery builders don't care and I don't feel bad for some rich fat big webmasters.

I recently submitted alot of movie galleries to about 30 moviepost sites and I got referrals from over 100 sites.

(and only about 20 of 30 sites I actually submitted to listed my galleries, so movie galleries got 'stolen' by about 80 sites ;) )

what is google doing?? go and sue them.

I spider galleries for years, smacking an avs form before the gallery.

i dont feel bad, then:

1. the gallery owner will get FREE AVS FILTERED TRAFFIC
2. the tgp/linklist owner will most likely get FREE AVS FILTERED TRAFFIC due to the recips on the gallery.

btw. i would suggest tgp owners should protect their links by an avs pass, it makes decent money. and the gallery owners aren't burning bandwidth like idiots.
