ASACP CEO Joan Irvine Interviewed On D.C. News

Ya know... it's worth noting that ASACP has come a long way since their humble beginnings. I sit on the advisory council for ASACP so I stay updated as to all the things they are doing. I thought many of you might be interested in hearing about some of their recent news. ASACP is helping to make a difference.

ASACP CEO Joan Irvine Interviewed On D.C. News

Los Angeles, CA (June 26, 2008) ? The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has just released a new video featuring CEO Joan Irvine being interviewed on the Channel 8 News in Washington D.C. on May 29, 2008. The interview is now available for viewing at https://youtube.com/watch?v=CoJwxE-VXhk.

Last month Irvine travelled to Washington to help kick off Internet Safety Month with a press conference at the National Press Club. Stormy Daniels, contract performer, writer and director with Wicked Pictures, and Joy King, Vice President of Special Projects for Wicked Pictures also participated in the press conference which highlighted the success of the RTA ?Restricted to Adults? website label. After the press conference Irvine was interviewed on News Channel 8 where she discussed the efforts by the adult entertainment industry to protect children from age-inappropriate content online

?Many people believe that the adult entertainment industry wants corrupt children, not protect them,? said Irvine. ?ASACP has worked diligently to let people know that is simply not the case, being interviewed on News Channel 8 helped me to share that message with viewers throughout the D.C. area.?

In the interview, Irvine also discussed the Parental Control Bar. The Parental Control Bar is a free online software developed by the Website Rating and Advisory Council (WRAAC) that helps concerned parents prevent their children from accessing adult-oriented websites. WRAAC co-sponsored the press conference.

Also available for viewing on ASACP?s YouTube Channel are highlights from the 2007 RTA Press Conference and public service announcements (PSA) which were produced by ASACP and feature Stormy Daniels. A video featuring highlights from the 2008 RTA Press Conference will be released later this year.

Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP battles child pornography through its CP reporting hotline, and by organizing the efforts of the online adult industry to combat the heinous crime of child sexual abuse. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online. For more information, go to www.asacp.org and www.RTAlabel.org.

Fantastic news. We're happy to support an organization with such an important goal. 13 cents per day doesn't sound high, now, does it?
Do your part.

I am sure when all those Washington people met Joan and heard what she had to say about how the Adult Industry is actively fighting against CP, were a bit confused when they didn't see like devil horns on her, or bouncy booby babes entourage behind her.

What they saw was a professional woman, articulating the facts about CP and how the adult industry does not put up with that kind of sh*t.

Fight the double take!

We support the ASACP and think you should do so too!

That's incredible! Congrats!

Now, if only people would believe what they don't want to believe... hope it works!

:D

Very nice. I love Joan. She's a great spokesperson for the adult industry. She completely breaks the sleazeball pornographer stereotype. Maybe she can get the message through to the rest of the brainwashed Americans that we're just as disgusted by CP as they are (if not more) and we don't even want kids accessing our sites.

good to see someone shed some good light on us.

Joan is one of the most amazing women in the biz. Always professional and kind. I am proud that Falcon Studios supports ASACP everyone in this biz should. She is out there fighting for us.

Hey Rand, you forgot the part about ASACP getting an award here locally last month as well. The mayor of Redondo presented it to her himself, that's saying something, especially for a conservative community to recognize the organizations efforts.

Thank You!

Thanks for the kind comments.

I am honored to represent ASACP and its sponsors and members, and to inform legislators and the public about our efforts to protect children.

With everyone's continued support, the increased adoption of the Restricted to Adults - RTA website label (http://rtalabel.org), impressive statistics, mainstream awards, and such visibility as on the Channel 8 News, it's difficult to ignore our combined efforts.

Thank you to everyone for what you are doing to protect children.

Awesome news! Everyone should support the ASACP.
