Anyone know a good site to Price old cars ?
One of my friends has a couple old Impalas, a 61 and 64 both in good shape, I guess he was going to restore them and does not have the time now..
He asked me to look into selling them for him.. Anyone know a site where you can find out a good starting price ?? I'm going to take a few pics tonight.. Thanks in advance :thumbsup |
your only hope really is ebay's completed listings. Any "price guides" simply cannot work due to an insane amount of factors. Try to find something close on ebay and watch that auction.

Isn't Kelly's Blue Book pretty much the bible on car values? I'm not sure, but I thought that was the one. If you go to a car dealership, ask them to see the blue book.
|
Should have googled that last search.. Kelly's Blue Book's web site is
http://www.kbb.com/ That is the authority on what a car is worth. |

I have a Dinamo 2008 Custom(It's a Mexican motorcycle), here is a pic, http://img102.imageshack.us/my.php?i...agen563fi1.jpg This pick is a couple of months old, now my bike has a custom paint job where it is covered with sperm. I'm new at this internet stuff, but nice to meet someone with a common interest (Well 2 common interests, bikes and pussy.) |

this is the guide used by Dealers across the country
www.NADA.com this was posted earlier in the thread |

I am not going to agree that just because a car is a 61 Impala it is worth at least $7k. These prices only apply as dealer rates to sell. No way are they paying that much. :2 cents: I will stick with Auto Trader. |

NADA Used Car Guide is the recognized leader across the automotive industry providing market-reflective used vehicle valuations for: financial institutions, credit unions, government agencies, insurance companies, dealers, auctions, manufacturers and rental agencies. NADA collects and analyzes over half a million auto-related transactions per month, including both wholesale and retail sales. The data is derived from automobile manufacturers, new and used car dealers and over 165 auctions nationwide. Taking into account economic trends, geographic location, weather and environmental concerns, along with many other factors to determine the most accurate price for a vehicle. The NADA price guide lets you pick the make, model, and year of the vehicle then allows you to choose options such as air conditioning, engine size etc. that were available then gives you a average figure for that vehicle in various conditions such as Low Retail, Average Retail Value, and High Retail. |
What needs to be done to them? New floor pans? New trunk pans? Engine rebuild? New carb? Other retinning?
Is the car stock? Where is it from? Has it been garaged or left out in the elements? All those factor in when pricing a classic car. You can also find an Impala forum and check the classic section. |

Admit you were wrong instead of trying to spin this by somehow implying my information is not relevant. |

Try Old car online. They even have a projects section...
http://www.oldcaronline.com/index.php |
Your friend isn't going to get anywhere what they're worth at the moment as EVERYONE is selling their "projects" at a loss due to current economy. How do I know? I'm buying the shit out of them. Last month alone:
49' Ford - 351 Windsor, C7, 9" rear, disc brakes, 12 volt conversion, etc - $600 52' Ford - Running Flathead - $800 59' Apache - Non-running, decent body - $150 Etc. My advise to your friend would be to sit on them. Just my worthless .02. |
It is absolutely relevant to YOUR 7 yrs response, which is the only thing I addressed.
|
PS. The "dubs" on that 64' look like shit.
