TopSite on WordPress
 

Hello to everybody.

I would like to build a TopSite plug-in for WordPress. The idea is to make a full-featured topsite with contributors accounts, in-out rotators, banner management etc. It will not be built into WordPress platform so upgrading WordPress will not damage your site. Also all generic WordPress functionality like pages, widgets, themes etc will be still available. The post instance will be replaced with the actual topsite entries, so managing your topsite will be as easy as managing WordPress posts.

The plug-in will be absolutely free so I will not be paid for the work. So I'd like to collect $500 donations to start working on this project. I can assume you that it will take 2 weeks of hard work once the amount is collected.

It is a very good idea and good luck, but anybody wanting to implement a toplist into their wordpress site can do so easily.

There are already tons of toplists available that can be easily added into wordpress. Unless you're building a toplist plugin for the wordpress platform than don't waste your time.

i searched the wp-plugin db and didn't find any real wp topsite plugin. any.

I misread your post. If you're making a plugin than that would be cool.

did you ever start working on this? I can't even find a toplist script that was built with Wordpress in mind.

where's a good wordpress plugin writer when you need them?

I'm checking Guru.com and oDesk.com for Wordpress plugin writers that can integrate this.

Can't believe that some of the free scripts haven't integrated their scripts into wordpress plugins to market their free versions. Then they can sell the premium version already within the plugin to use on your blog.

Actually I doubt too. Adult webmasters are buying Porsches and Ferraires but when it comes to donations $10 is a huge amount. That's why I already started development. In any way the plug-in will be free.
