epassporte or check payments?
which do you prefer and why?
i get like 20-30 checks and im getting sick of going to the bank. it gets really sloppy. my bank charges like 20$ to recieve a wire. so im gussing a good replacement would be epassporte. hows epassporte? does the fee's add up a lot? if you have a LLC. you have to open up a business epassporte account not a personal one right? Thanks |
Well i used it to receive alote of payments, and i love. You can always use the Visa for some extra personal cash :) that you don't have to show in your company.

I used to prefer epassporte for all of my payments. Then it got hard for me to track everything when it came tax time so I request checks on most of them so that I can scan and file them. I still receive 4-5 of my larger payments through epassporte each month to cover various costs, some of my employees prefer to get paid that way.
If I didn't have to keep track of things I would definitely prefer epassporte for all of my payments, although the limit of $520/day from the ATM would kinda suck. In regards to the LLC and business or personal epassporte account. I assume your payments come paid to your LLC name, if so then I would imagine it would be required for you to have a business account setup under that name. I run an LLC and still receive most of my payments in my personal name so I only have a personal account with epassporte. |
I like and will like checks but I feel for the overseas affilitates who get charged to cash them. However since it is free to deposit them here, plus they come with legal protection attached to them (checks that is) along with ease of tracking. It is a no brainer to go with them.
I just got a better deposit form from my bank that has slots for like 50 or more check lines, and a pre inked deposit stamp. Visit bank once every week or two and its simple. Plus I could not imagine trying to withdraw cash from the ATM's all of the time or waiting so long for it to go from sponsor to epass to bank. |
I prefer ePassporte over the checks, you can raise daily withdrawal limits there if you need to :)
|
well, we still pay way more WMs by check than ePass, but it's catching up more an more despite all the short-comings of ePass
|
If those are the only two choices I'll take the cheques.
My bank charges me nothing for depositing US cheques to my USD account, and nothing to transfer funds from there into my CAD account. Nothing sloppy about it. |

Epass is quick and simple.fuck going to the bank
|
Epassporte fo sure :)
|
Despite everything going on with ePass, it's just a lot easier especially if you are say in Asia :)
|
Epass for the win. Fast, easy and no walks to the bank for every check. Just go to the ATM whenever you want - no lines like on the bank ... Epass!!!

For those in the US bitching about going to the bank (screw every day, who lives check to check like that). Is it not the same damn thing as going to the ATM every day or few days?
I do not really have a line at my bank, however I can deal with everything at the ATM anyways. Just fill out my form, enter info, press deposit, say yes or no to cash back. Walla done. No real time difference than using an ATM to withdraw. |
I like Epass. Its a bit annoying getting money out at times when there's too much in there but its better than waiting for my bank. Any cheques over $200 at my bank have to be sent for collection - that takes 4 weeks and the fee's are insane. Works out at almost $80 in fee's.

I use epass for small payments. If a U.S. program has a low-fee ACH payment option, I'll pick that since I have a U.S. bank account. Otherwise, check is the last option for small payments. The payments over $500-1000 are worth the wire fee. |
Like I said I get the love for anyone outside of the US with epassporte or other debit style systems.
|
Epass since I'm in Europe and caching US checks cost...
|
I used to love epassporte but (being in Canada) I just switched back to good ol' checks after realizing I'm losing almost $4000 in fees per year using my epassporte card at ATM's. Epass fees + ATM fees + bad exchange rate = lots of money wasted.

i like epass :thumbsup
quick and simple.... |

Not to mention they're crazy policies (blocked accounts, etc.) and demands (documents, etc.) :2 cents: |
I prefer checks. I don't trust epass or any other online money transfer site.

Checks... In a perfect world ACH

i guess i will stick to checks.
But say if someone is promoting like 50 different sponsors. And if you are receiving checks. How do you keep up to date with if the sponsors didn't miss a payment or a check got lost. Is there any way around that? do you guys even make sure everything is there? So what would you do if you were in my shoes? just write down all the sponsors and how much you were supposed to get receive for that pay period then just keep checking your mail and update the list? Is there a easier way to do this? like to keep track if you received all the payments? Thanks guys |
yea, with options like ACH, its amazing how many webmasters still prefer to get check payments, most common payment method by far. guess there is nothing like getting a physical paper check :)
