TGP webmasters, gallery builders and submitters, it's about time we have a little gathering of our own. Whether you're a veteran or trying to get into the TGP game, you are welcome to come hang out. I need to get a general idea of how many of you would be interested and I will set the final details accordingly. Currently Shemp and I are looking at meeting up on Friday, November 15 in the metro Atlanta area. If you think you may be able to come, please add your name in this thread and drop me an email at [email protected] (please include "definite" or "maybe") and I will email you the final details. This will be an informal gathering and the exact location will be determined based on how many of you are planning to come. If you have a suggestion of a bar/restaurant/other, please let me know.

maybe you should think about doing it in Vegas for cybernet expo a couple of days later. Nov 20,21,22

that way the tgp people can meet up in a private laid back area AND on the other days you can also meet sonsers, hosting people, credit card people, etc etc etc.... as many of us ALREADY have bought airplane tickets to vegas for cybernet expo.............. It doesn't really make sense to go so far to Atlanta just for one thing. ?????????????

it's under $200 for RETURN airfare from MOST places in the usa - hotel rooms are under $60/night. cheaper if you want to stay off the strip. Unless you're on social assistance for income it's VERY VERY affordable. And if you're making soo little that you can't afford that then you should maybe be looking for another business cause this one ain't working for ya. Considering the business significance of these events there isn't really any personal reasons other than health concerns for not going either.

I never thought of that. I thought that all of the good shit would be taking place at the Venetian or something like that. I had no idea that you could get a hotel room in vegas for 60 a night. I might just go in January.

Back the truck up SleazyDream... First off it has nothing to do with the money it's a timing problem. I like alot of people on this board work a mainstream job and mine has absoutley nothing to do with the internet. November is crunch time in my business so taking off three days in the middle of the week in November is just not an option. Also those dates fall close to Thanksgiving, my birthday, and my mothers birthday and as much as I like you guys I would rather spend the time with my family. There are events all year long and I hope next year to attend alot more than I did this year (none). I understand the significance of these events but it's nice to see some close to home that are easier for me to attend than having to fly 3000 miles from home.

We need some sort of get-together in Hawaii. I'd think about going then.

I certainly understand where you're coming from, Sleazy, but it's working this way for a few reasons.
Shemp will already be down here during that time, so it seemed appropriate to do something while he's here. As you know, he doesn't travel much and for that reason, most of you haven't had the chance to ever meet him face to face. I can't speak for him, but I highly doubt after leaving Atlanta, that he'll want to take a trip to Vegas the following week.
Also, for me... travel doesn't happen often either. It's not easy to get away from 3 kids for more than a day. I'm reserving my 3 day sitter for January. :)
I expect because of the timing and location, that many won't be able to make it... and that's understandable. It would be great if you could make it down... I'd really love to meet you, but if it's not in the cards this time, so be it. Internext is just around the corner. :)

why would anyone NOT want to be on the strip? Thats where all the action is...plus its good for dragging your drunken ass and your slut to your hotel room without getting robbed

What is that a 6 hour drove from Orlando to Atlanta? How long is this meeting/get together going to last?

first time I went to vegas for a convention i stayed at circus circus for $55/night. VERY VERY nice rooms - off the strip it's even cheaper.

i would like to do something with amp sometime there.......

6 or 7 hour drive sounds about right.

I'm thinking we'll start up Friday afternoon and let it run as long as it needs to. For that reason, we're looking at doing something in or near a hotel. I don't know what everyone will be up for, so this way it can run for an evening, or into the following day, if needed.

Pick the right dates and you can have a suite in Mandalay Bay for $120 or so. Girlfriend and I did that last time we went, you just have to be able to go between sun. and thurs. Same rooms go for $250 -> $800 a night on weekends, high season, and big conventions.

Last time I looked the Hilton had stuff under $60, it was like $49 or something, and thats on the strip.

UPDATE

We are planning to hold the get together at the Marriott, located 2 miles from Hartsfield Airport. The link to the hotel is http://www.marriott.com/dpp/Property...rshaCode=ATLAP
So far, plans are for Dinner at 7pm on Friday, November 15, after which we can relocate to the bar. Check in at the hotel is 3pm, so I'm sure anyone who arrives early will be able to meet up in a specified location to chat and have drinks before dinner.

Hello everyone! Another update.

The page consists of details on where and when the gathering will be held, a link to the hotel, # for reservations, a guest list... etc.
The ONLY people I've included on the guest list are those that have emailed to confirm they are coming and those that I have spoken with personally. If you plan to come, but your name isn't yet on the list, please use the email link on the page and let me know. I'll be updating the list daily.

Shemp and I are looking forward to meeting those of you who will be coming. If you won't be able to make it, there's always Vegas in January! :D
