North Korea and Condaliza Rice

This morning on CNN Condaliza Rice flatly stated that North Korea will not be allowed to persue a Nuclear Weapons program. War is not imminent because she says we have other leverages to use before military force would be considered.

theking 10-20-2002 11:04 AM

Two former National Security Advisers that appeared on CNN also agree that North Korea cannot be allowed to persue a Nuclear capability. If they do not cease and desist, guess who will be next after the Iraqi problem is dealt with?

DUH?.. "Condaliza Rice flatly stated that North Korea will not be allowed to persue a Nuclear Weapons program" .. Excuse me, but Rice does have a big mouth, and not a diplomatic one. She does not govern North Korea, nor does the US. I see the Washington disease of arrogance and "assumed righteousness" is still in full swing.

North Korea is not the only country that needs the removal of arms, lets start off with the country who has more weapons of mass distruction than any on the planet - the US, then clean up the stuff rotting in Russia.

Folks that live in glasshouses have no credibility to comment on others doing the same as em - think that is called hypocritic?? This comment is just yet another crass statement from the US admin on a meaningless news channel (CNN) - who gives a fuck what Rice or the administation utter? Sadly the US is just another "rogue state" with "weapons of mass distruction" now.

If North Korea does not cease and desist, the USA will govern North Korea, as soon as we take care of Iraq. Learn to live with the fact that the USA is the biggest, baddest dog on the block. Those that don't do so may get bitten.

Perhaps you overlooked some vital information, it's a little too late to disallow them to pursue Nuclear Weapons, they've already got them! America is going to pussy foot around them (unlike their gung-ho attitude with Iraq) because they know New York would be obliterated if they mount an attack.

America may be the 'baddest dog on the block' but the North Korean dog has one big bad bite.

china might have a very different opinion on what the US can do in North Korea.

Yea.. sure is getting that way - a "rogue state" that for some reason has this overblown opinion of itself. Sadly idiot behavior has a habit of bouncing back on the "baddest dog"...

The first step in getting others to disarm nukes it to disarm our own. I definitely agree about that. I'm not sure what good a nuclear war would do anybody.

On the other hand, I will say this... if I had to choose whether I'd rather the U.S. have nukes or North Korea, I'd have to go with the U.S... just because I know we would never strike first with them. I don't have the same confidence in North Korea.

What makes you think that they already have Nuclear Weapons? What is your source of information? Even if they had Nukes, North Korea does not have ICBM's or long range bombers so New York should be safe for awhile longer.

I seriously doubt that China is willing to give up its MFN status over North Korea, they are not stupid people.

The rest of us appeared here and agreed that the USA cannot be allowed to pursue a Nuclear capability.

I just watched the video of the press conference given by Secretary Rumsfeld and General Myers. What the Secretary said was "they may have" Nuclear Weapons. That possibility has to be considered, just as the possibility that Iraq has Nuclear Weapons has to be considered. We do know for a fact that Iraq and North Korea has not done any Nuclear Weapons testing.

The USA already did.... North Korea never did.

I love how a country with at least 12,000 nukes is telling a country with 0-1 nukes not to have any. LOL

Its also funny how the US is more then happy to fight/bully/threaten non-nuclear countries but is scared to do the same with a nuclear armed country.
The world sees America this way, as cowards afraid to stand up to strong countries, but bullies the weak.

I saw 5 minutes of SNL (the news part) and they were joking about this as well.

The US is the only country in history to ever use Nuclear weapons against people.
