Well yes obviously Americans have a lower IQ than many other people from western countries but if you read the text instead of being a smart ass right away you will see that America is kinda of an expection.

That study is not very accurate, it puts Ireland in place 36 India in place 60. There are numerous astonishingly clever and phenomenally successful businessmen that are East Indian.

Also, many of these IQ estimates (mainly in third world countries) are based on results of tests that are affected by poor education - in many developing countries you often find that people are really clever in average, but well... schools suck.

Number of Nobel laureates doesn't say much about average national intelligence, though. Winning a Nobel prize is a result of individual intelligence, but also of education, social context, etc.

An African kid with an IQ of 200 and no chance to go to school isn't likely to ever contribute anything significant to the field of science. The Chinese guy who has to work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, isn't likely to ever write the great 21st century novel. Etc.
