More good news for big oil fucking over everyone else.. On appeal, the supreme court slashed the 2.5 billion they were supposed to pay to victims of Valdez down to a maximum of 500 million... Let's all keep in mind that their PROFITS for the 1st quarter of this year was $10.9 billion.

2.5 was excessive in my mind and I am very protective of the Environment. Though 500 million is bullshit. I mean just giving each person 15k is laughable, many lost entire businesses and people get paid a bit up there for a reason. Actually fuck it they should get the full 75k or so each.

Oh for non article readers, they did have to still pay over 3.5 billion for clean up and shit.

Though to think they will make back that 500 million in less than a half day, fuck that sucks ass. I also have no problem with how much they make, just pisses me off about how many they effected and the damage they caused. Bet the poor fuckers will not even get interest on their payouts over all of these years.

Nope and I wonder how much each person will get after the lawyers are done with this case.

The fact that it went to the Supreme Court, cost everyone involved plenty of cash.
