What is your method for getting a song out of your head?

For the past two days I have had 'Total Eclipse Of My Heart' - a song that I don't even like - totally stuck in my head. I catch myself humming and whistling it and it is driving me nuts.

What is your method for getting a song unstuck and do you have one stuck in your head now?

pandora.com

Replace it with something equally as cheesy. Either that or a good burst of pain should do the trick. Perhaps you need to listen to banana phone.

IllTestYourGirls 06-25-2008 04:36 AM

this seems to do the trick

I used to do the 'hey mickey' trick and suffer through that but it isn't working.

I usually play loud music , in a language which i can't speak , so like this will not get stuck in my head . Give a try with Rammstein - Benzin , good luck ;)

Sarah_Jayne 06-25-2008 05:04 AM

Rammstein 's 'Sonne' is one of the worst songs for getting stuck in my head too..just stays there for days. Though, It would be a lot better than Bonnie Tyler.

Vicious_B 06-25-2008 06:21 AM

Try getting Copacabana stuck in your head. You will want to shoot yourself.

Spunky 06-25-2008 06:23 AM

I smoke a reefer. that seems to help with the short term memory stuff

tranza 06-25-2008 06:36 AM

Try a new and better one to replace it!

Rick Astley.. 'Nough said.

I read recently that doing math problems works for this.

.. but then try getting the multiplication tables out of your head.

I once had Billy Joel's "In the Middle of the Night" god awful trainwreck of a song stuck in my head for literally 5 days straight. I seriously considered jumping in front of a bus.

pr0 06-25-2008 07:50 AM

the smurf's intro & the theme song to "flipper"

I have been there! I had that one stuck last year some time and it drove me nuts because it was pretty much just one line of the song too..just over and over.

CDSmith 06-25-2008 08:34 AM

Turn on the radio.

Pain is the best method. When that happens to me I just smash my face into a wall...........Works every time:winkwink:

Paco, of Large Cash. 06-25-2008 10:12 AM

Uh, ew..!
Truly sorry to hear that (you can not get that bunk out of your noggin).

I suggest listening to better music. Better yet, how's about some tunes that are from this century.

Thanks for now making it a medley in my head.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 06-25-2008 12:54 PM

as weird as it sounds, I go listen to the song all the way through a couple of times. Usually does the trick.

I could actually see where that might work..I will have to try it because it is still there.
