It might discourage some p2p "pirates", but on the other hand I find it a bit scary to see how far the government is ready to go in order to "defend" intellectual property. It is a _serious_ threat to privacy.

What is GFY's opinion on the subject?

i get all my best international news about privacy issues and "big brother" from torrent site networks as well. they clearly don't have any agenda.
