On August 21, 1959, Hawaii was admitted to the union as our 50th state. So that was before his birth.

Remember, that the Jesus freaks(bible belt) are not educated so adding and subtracting is witchcraft.

Yes no doubt there, but Im sure there was a rumor to the opposite that this is in reaction to. :2 cents:

CIVMatt 06-20-2008 10:46 AM

I thought McCain wasn't either, so who cares

Nikki_Licks 06-20-2008 10:49 AM

Not to switch subjects, but I believe that McCain was born overseas and not on American soil.....or at least that is what I heard.

Last I checked, Hawaii was part of the US. :winkwink:

nation-x 06-20-2008 10:51 AM

McCain was born in Panama I believe

DaddyHalbucks 06-20-2008 10:57 AM

Obama is qualified, but a poor choice. His liberal policies will further erode our country's economy.

That is sooooooo true! I bet 100% of U.S. citizens would kill for another 4 more years of George W. Bush and whatever "conservative policies" he used to get us to this living hell we are currently in.

Clearly, you are no dummy.

I was born in angry Toronto....

CosmicTang 06-20-2008 11:05 AM

McCain was born in Panama. There are two ways to be born a citizen:

1. Be born on American soil
2. Be born to an American citizen.

Even though McCain was born outside the states, at least one of his parents is American, which makes him American. Ditto Obama.

McCain might have been born a US citizen, but the Asians swapped his insides out and made him robotic when he was in that camp

No he was born in the Panama Canal zone which was american territory at the time. You could be born in Puerto Rico and run for President.

many people are (were) born in the canal zone that were not granted citizenship. Only those born to American parents were granted US citizenship.

"In 1953, Congress passed legislation to specify the status of Americans born in the Canal Zone--and to exclude non-Americans born there from citizenship. Title 8, Section 1403 of the United States Code grants citizenship to those born in the Canal Zone with at least one parent who is a United States citizen. This differs from the provision in the Fourteenth Amendment which grants citizenship to all born in the United States, regardless of parental nationality."

where's my format USGOVERNMENT command?

It's all fucked up, once again both options for president are HORRIBLE ones When was our last decent option? Bill Clinton was passable... He was smart enough to not "rock the boat" while not being stupid enough to go after Iraq (GW wanted to finish daddy's business)

Sometimes the route to being a good president is simply not making a mess.

GW created mess after mess leaving the next guy to clean it up... so whoever gets elected this round is responsible for all of GW's SHIT. Honestly GW should be put on trial and held responsible for his garbage.

The only way we'll ever dig out of this mess is simply overhauling our government. Completely whipe out the ability to accept cash from the top 100 corporations that way 75% of our senate, and house aren't OWNED by big business and no longer looking out for US.

If it were a priority by our government we wouldn't have any need at all for oil...

Considering his dad wwas there beause he was serving in the US military I'd say that would be pretty shitty not to give McCain citizenship.

You have more than 2 options. If more people would realize this then maybe things would change.

I believe all hawaiian citizens were naturalized when this happened, weren't they?

The fact is there are other options yes... but without the support from either democrats or republicans you simply don't have the support to get anywhere.

Nader never had a shot... I'd rather revive the old Ross Perot shit than even consider Nader. Nader simply would be lost given any power. Perot at least was a BILLIONAIRE who simply couldn't be owned by any corporation and had some seriously good reform ideas and spoke his mind no matter who was around...

You may hate the thought but I'd rather see Mark Cuban leading the country than Nader. Everything that guy touches he turns around.... Did he buy the cubs yet? they'll be a serious contender within 5 years of Cuban coming in... He's not afraid of making major changes and he makes his people comfortable and takes care of his guys.
