A huge tornado funnel cloud touches down in Orchard, Iowa, Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 9:04 p.m. The Globe Gazette and Mitchell County Press News reported that Lori Mehmen of Orchard, took the photo from outside her front door. Mehmen said the funnel cloud came near the ground and then went back up into the clouds. Besides tree and crop damage, no human injuries were reported.

Yep. And your a day or so late on that one. Did you sleep in or something?

Mullett 06-19-2008 02:26 PM

you can kiss dorothy's ass goodbye.

Casa Nova 06-19-2008 02:31 PM

thats absolutely breathtaking.

I'd love to watch something like that happen in front of me.

Honez 06-19-2008 02:31 PM

My sister in law sent me that same pic saying it was the tornado that ripped through the Boy Scout camp. Honestly? I call photoshop. There is absolutely no debris flying around and I'm sorry but, when a twister makes contact, shit goes everywhere.

It is a nice chop though :)

kostas 06-19-2008 02:32 PM

It's incredible!!

I on the other hand would shit myself running.

payd2purv 06-19-2008 02:48 PM

I don't really see how that's a photoshop.

The only thing that looks off to me is the dent in the cloud about half way up the funnel on the left side.

I think the massiveness is mis-leading to how close you think the funnel is to the person taking the picture.

Obviously it could be a photoshop but I dont see any obvious signs.

blizzent 06-19-2008 08:03 PM

It's not a tornado. It's a shelf cloud.

MandyBlake 06-19-2008 08:32 PM

holy crap is that late?

iSMOKE 06-19-2008 08:49 PM

i am by no means an expert at anything and for sure know nothing about a tornado but my common sense is telling me that anyone close enough to take a pic like that wouldnt be able to take the pic...seems like they would be in the air getting tossed around like those cows in the movie twister or twisters...whatever

dav3 06-19-2008 08:50 PM

thats a great pic!

It is actually a mesocyclone with a wall cloud. Yep, I was mistaken. Checked it out on Snopes. It is for real. :)

morningstar 06-19-2008 09:17 PM
