do you listen to podcasts?

There a zillion of them on itunes but does anyone actually listen to these?

Yes, living in a small island, I download podcasts from good radio station 'back home' in UK and listen to them when driving - makes me feel less cut off from 'civilization' lol

never have

CarlosTheGaucho 06-23-2008 04:28 AM

I sometimes do listen to some of those in a car playing them from my mp3 player, this way I can decide about my "own" radio programming instead of listening to things that in many cases are decently put but not particularly interesting.

The only listenable local radio is BBC anyway, the rest has absolutely no informational value and what's worst to be a DJ seems more like a diagnose than a job in most cases.

I never listen to them.. I always have the feeling im the only one and im missing out on a lot of fun..

Agreed :thumbsup

No, I really don't. The only one I would listen to is a copy of a show I listen to live on the radio anyway (Mark Kermode film reviews). So, I guess I do when I miss it live but other than that no.

Yeah, if I was still living in UK I probably would'nt bother...

I've tried, but I can't seem to get into it.

Most of my television content is podcasts nowadays. Subscribe and iTunes nicely downloads all my content for me, syncs it over to my appletv and I have a plethora of content I am actually interested in to watch whenever I want to watch it.

For audio only ones, I like This Week in Tech, several weekly ones from the Guardian and a few BBC ones.

For video I enjoy diggnation, tekzilla, dl.tv, the 1upshow, maholo daily, ricky gervais, the burg and more. Most are now 720pp HD.

As for numbers I believe diggnation gets about 500k downloads a week.

I can't understand why anyone WOULDN'T get into these? Free content that you like, that you get automatically, that you can listen to when you want to?

Just getting into them now. They are pretty hit or miss and the itunes store isn't set up that well. But if you are willing to do some searching you will find some good stuff for sure.

Scott McD 06-23-2008 09:09 AM

Listen to a few of them sometimes. Mostly dance stuff...

Violetta 06-23-2008 09:18 AM

no... almost never!

geirlur 06-23-2008 09:20 AM

I listen to a few radioshows, that way I can hear the good stuff and don't have to listen to all the music inbetween :)

Angel Martin 07-23-2008 09:05 AM

Itunes will not let us put our radio shows up there. It's not like they are that bad or anything. Probably because they have the word shit in them.
