McCain is pretty much a known given and Obama is
...is not. What are you going to go with...a guy with a known track record or a guy without a track record. Do you take a chance or not?
|
you really want bush all over again?
|

Let himself get captured in a war, and burned down a ship... nice track record |

Why would you want a guy that needs his wife to use a computer. That just shows that he has no interest in knowing or understanding the world today. Also shows that he is useless when it comes to accessing information and relies too heavily on mainstream media to tell him what is going on in the world.
McCain is stuck in the past. No forward thinking. Why would you ever want that. I understand a fear of change. But the US population should fear stagnation much more. |

I'm taking bets... McCain is toast...

It was setup that way on purpose. It's been planned from the beginning.

Both will keep Bush's policies in place. Keep our troops in Iraq Look to expand the "war on terror" Threating Iran Obama has said he will "go into Pakistan" to "get Osama" I am sure we will be warmly welcomed. Keeping the patriot act (no matter how much its changed its still a shitty bill) and so on... There is no real choice this election cycle.. just like every other one. |

Now, chose between a given ( senile flip-flopper warmonger ) or an unknown ( eloquent well intentioned ) ... hard choice ... :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh I personally hope that McSame gets in, so that the republicans have to manage the mess created, instead of shovelling it to a democrat ... :2 cents: |
Vote McBama!

McCain is a perfect candidate. For the year 2000. It's known to be a pretty widely held opinion.
I remember watching him on C-Span railing against government funding of "clean coal" experiments. This was during his maverick phase, and he was doing a nice job talking to, (but not ultimately convincing), his whacky party to cut this funding because it never had a snowballs chance in hell of actually producing clean burning coal. He used to always bitch about everyone jamming their pet funding projects into other completely unrelated bills and earned the label "maverick" for it. But coal has gotten worse in the past 8 years, not better. When they were sued in west virginia for violating the clean water act, the then-republican controlled government decided to not fight it. Instead they *changed the law itself* to make it acceptable to dump their waste, including contaminated waste so that mountain top mining operations could continue! Mountain top mining is where they blast and strip the entire top of mountains, remove the coal, then dump the waste down the mountain side, filling in valleys. This was causing water to become contaminated to the point where residents were replacing their home filtration filters once every few days, instead of once every 6 months like normal people. They were getting sick. So they sued based on the clean water act being violated in plain sight. And the dickheads changed the laws, turning back the clock once again, and said FUCK YOU to the dying citizens in support of Big Coal. McCain's in support of the coal companies again, he wants to drill for oil again, he's all about funding all this backwards bullshit. Gosh what happened? He's against his past self on so many issues, he's anti-straight talk, anti-maverick now. He's fall-in-line McCain now and he's stuck there. It's almost as if his entire party is beholden to some large energy concerns. But that couldn't be. That'd be nuts. :disgust |

people who wouldnt vote for Obama, will vote against McCain, so Obama will get their vote. We simply dont want another Bush all over again.
|
At best Obama will bring down the number of troops in Iraq but I guarantee he won't be out in two years. And the reality is a good number of those troops withdrawn will have to be relocated to Afghanistan where things are fading fast. That mentions nothing about his plans for Pakistan and what to do with Iran if things start to deteriorate more.

As if there's really going to be an election this November.. You think Cheney & Bush will give up their power so easily after all the preparation and planning they put into giving themselves absolute power... |

And if they managed to get elected, I can't even fathom the fun we'd have with the GOP. I'm already laughing, just thinking about the stories and people who would come crawling out of the woodwork. It would be like a 4 year gay pride parade. |
