pr0 06-16-2008 11:24 PM

webcams.com is by far the best webcam program on the net

bow down to the ridiculous conversions & revshare!

spline 06-16-2008 11:30 PM

the second one is the most professional & complete design

I don't understand how someone can pay $2000 for just some text links & thumbs - http://fdsign.com/webcams/v2/index.php

but anyway congrats to the winner, it's a sweet prize

JamesK 06-16-2008 11:41 PM

It was a close vote between #1 & #2 - it came down to #2 had his site up for over a month before the contest and just made some changes to it as an entry to the contest. #1 had nice, unique ideas and started at the time of the contest.. Ranking the top 5 vote receivers was based on lots of stuff :)

xentech 06-16-2008 11:49 PM

nice one

Number one seems to have plenty of problems, some of it is not loading correctly for me at least anyway, also it doesn't have any affiliate id i think?

All the way, very well done to all involved (especially webcams.com - great fucking idea!!), congrats to the winners!

John. 06-16-2008 11:52 PM

by the way... are these designs now going to be available as themes for webcams.com affiliates to use on their own sites to promote the brand?

dtoolbox 06-17-2008 12:14 AM

congrats to all the winners and thanks to all who voted :thumbsup

kapopoy 06-17-2008 12:31 AM

SNRProductions 06-17-2008 12:37 AM

Yea I voted for #2 also.

blademaster16 06-17-2008 12:43 AM

congrats to the winners

Jago Webcams 06-17-2008 12:48 AM

#1 used our Model profile feeds via that mouseover, which was the biggest selling point to me personally :) IMO that was most creative thing of all the entries :2 cents:

It doesn't work in IE 7, guess that makes it obsolete.

Jago, keep your 1000$

Big_D 06-17-2008 01:14 PM

Jago you know I got mad respect for webcams.com and you as well, but at the same time, i think you guys chose poorly.

#1 is shit and looks like something from the 90's. Yes it may use your feeds to an extent but nowhere near the amount that CamQuery does.

#2 Seriously should have won the contest. I will admit I know Sabin personally so it may not be "fair" for me to say that, but what your missing is how Sabin actually took your code (as well as other RSS feed providing sponsors) and not only shows the live models on his site upon the surfer arriving, but once the site assimilates the code it actually archives the information. He went above and beyond what "live feeds" are supposed to do. The site is fully optimized for search engines, shows live models upon every visit, and also pulls you mad traffic from archived profiles made from your feeds that have been indexed by search engines.

As for the deisgns, well, I made stuff better than #1 in 8th grade.

#2 is clean, professional, planned well, and focuses on the content without a lot of distractions.

I dont know if #1 is sending you traffic, but I do know that #2 is an affiliate of Webcams.com and promotes you guys as much as possible.

as far as you saying that CamQuery was built a couple of months prior, you are right, but why would you let someone fully enter a contest if you were going to penalize him for it in the finals?

Regardless, congrats to the winners, Webcams.com is a great affiliate program, I just dont support the final decision of this contest.

harvey 06-17-2008 01:20 PM

wow, thanx man, really happy about it :)

for those talking out of their asses, it's true it's a really simple and straight to the point design. I made another one (which wasn't even selected for voting) with more graphics and this simple one which shows the ability and power of RSS feeds and a simple implementation on AJAX (just imagine the possibilities!!!!). Anyone who takes a look at my portfolio can see I tend to be really complicated on designs, but this time it wasn't needed. Maybe that's why I'm still waiting for someone to show a proof of consistent design effectiveness like I can show at http://fdsign.com/2007/stats/index.html . Maybe I learned one or two things throughout 11 years in the industry. And maybe that's why those who voted for my design were program owners and people who knows a couple things, including the great people at Webcams.com

Anyway, everybody knows I'm 100% drama free and I'm happy to win, so enough of the pseudo drama, keep hating if you want and many thanx to WEBCAMS.COM!

PS: I'll add several styling choices to brand the feed in many different ways, so anyone who REALLY PROMOTES WEBCAMS :winkwink: take a look at the feeds once WEBCAMS.COM have them available for their affiliates. :thumbsup

PS2: hey k0nr4d, hope you did http://www.youjizz.com/ for free since it's even simpler than my design. Or maybe you knew what you were doing and suddenly forgot? :winkwink:

I agree that his design looked great. I don't think it's penalizing him by allowing him in the finals, but ok :) The winner had the most creative idea by incorporating our Model Profile RSS feed into that ajax popup box. simple as that :)
