Hmmm...I started a thread earlier in the week about the same. I didn't have the chance to enter...but I was very curious because of the way the whole deal kicked off.

Maybe they felt the entries "sucked," in their words (and minds)? Maybe they're falling back on their additional 2 weeks clause in the rules?

WebQuest Contest Update

We DID select a winner last week. He's actually in the process of getting us all the files, etc. We hope to post the completed tour and announce the winners name later this week.

Everyone won! Riverdale got the cash, we got a cool design and we found several new designers that we plan to do more biz with.....AND we got to see SleazyDream eat his ate! :)

Stay tuned.....winner will be announced within a few days.

Oh boy....here we go again :)

You're right. I did not see your design until yesterday. That's because I was not the one reveiewing all of the tours that were submitted. I simply asked my crew to send me their top three picks out of all the submissions. I then choose the one that I liked the best.

We extended the deadline because at the time of the original deadline, my guys informed me that we had only recevied a a few submissions and that they had received several requests for more time. Extending the deadline was a no brianer and since we reserved the right to do so in the begining, I don't see where this is an issue.

The winning design was submitted "complete", in that the tour was done to our satisfaction at the time of submission. However, we did ask for a few changes to be made (different models, etc), which is why it took a little longer for us to get the finished product.

We didn't have an official "2nd place". I was simply making that up on the fly because I thought your design was pretty cool and that you wouldn't mind getting $1,000 instead of nothing. Honestly, I don't even know if we would use it as I'm sure we'll use the winning design for quite some time.

I think the $1,000 is more than fair, considering that we don't NEED a second tour right now and we are giving $5,000 to the winning tour, as promised.

If you don't want the cash....fine by me. I was just trying to give a little credit to you for a nice design :)

Ohhh... being with the last three is better than I thought :)

I sincerely appreciate your frank reply. Honestly, this isn't about the money as much as the point I am trying to make.

I am suggesting that it appears a member of your crew consciously prevented you from seeing my entry, not based on merit but due to personal reasons. I believe, as evidenced by your compliments on the design and offer to give me a prize for 2nd place despite never having seen it prior to now, that someone knew you would in fact like the design and may have awarded me the prize prior to extending the original deadline.

I am making this point because up until very recently I was a key member of your crew. For over a year and a half I gave 200%, working candidly and dilligently in the best interest of your company. There are two sides to every story, and I'm sure you heard one.

My point is that this situation illustrates that those entrusted to act on your behalf in the best interest of your company, perhaps are not always doing so. I wish that we had had more opportunities to work directly together because I have found you, as demonstrated by your actions on this board, to be honorable and just. I sincerely hope that we will have a chance to work more closely in the future.

I assure you that your design was NOT kept from me for personal reasons.

A LOT of designs were submitted and I only asked for the top 3 to look at. There were probably several others that I "might" have liked, but I only asked for the best three in the opinion of some of our staff members.

The fact is, that the member of my crew that I think you are referring to, had nothing to do with this contest and did not see any of the submissions.....

I understand your concerns, but what you described above simply is not true.....
