FACT: If you keep checking your email every 30 seconds, more email comes in.
Just thought I'd remind you that if you constantly click Send/Receive, you will magically get email that wouldn't normally come in. :1orglaugh

I'm expecting an email from a guy about a condo rental. He told me he'd get back to me Monday morning when he got to his office. I've hit send/receive waaaay too many times this morning. I feel like I got busted. :1orglaugh

it's true! i use this technique all the time since i love magic email!
|
I use an old school text client logged in via SSH so I hear the ding the minute the mail server (which sits on the same machine) accepts delivery. :pimp
|
Heh .. not if amavis or another tool for this reason blocks the mail before being actually delivered to the Maildir or mailbox.
However this spam is annoying. And that's because there are so many players on the market offering free mail and because there are so many stand-alone mail server built with the very spam purpose. There's no unity whatsoever in building mail servers because they do not stick to the regulatory RFC's. I wish all the spammers will suddenly discover they have cancer and only few weeks left sending spam. :) |
