Is it legal to drink and drive on the ranch?

I want to drive my F150 drunk on my 1,000 acre ranch.

Is that OK?

ADL Colin 06-12-2008 01:38 PM

In the US? Wouldn't that be a state law?

Definitely illegal in Pakistan

I would guess no. I was target shooting on my father in laws private land and somebody called the police because they were annoyed. It is legal to shoot on that land but the cop had to come out anyway and investigate.

I was driving through the field coming back in when he stopped me. I got out, he asked if i was shooting, i said yes, he asked to see the gun. It was fall and cold, I had a 9mm stuck on the inside of my jacket. He told me I was not allowed to carry and conceal a fire arm and could lose my gun privlages. I told him i was on private property and that I could do what i wanted (i used to be a smartass) he told me that laws on private land and public streets are the same.

You can do what you want on private property, ever have an accident in a parking lot? yep cops don't care.

Depends where you are.

In some places, like at least parts of Canada, it is illegal to have what's called "Care and Control" of a vehicle when you're drunk.

So if you were drunk, sitting it a vehicle with the keys in it, not even driving it, on private property, you'd still be breaking the law.

You always see underage kids driving on farms/ranches they say it's not illegal.. I wonder...

If so contact the NRA because they eat this shit up and you can conceal your gun on private property anytime you like.

He didn't take the gun, didnt give me a ticket. He could have just been giving me a hard time since I dated his daughter in highschool. Still though, being a hunter, I to this day have never concealed a handgun when I have gone on private property for fear of losing my right to bear arms.

This happened around 8 or 9 years ago.

And if you accidentally forget to renew your tag and you're late by a few days (or weeks), if you tell them the car has been parked and you haven't driven it during that time, they won't charge you the penalty.

That's just what I've heard. :1orglaugh

very good question.. even when i drive up to camp 2 hours into the bush.. no one gives a shit if you drink.. thou there are no cops up there, just ppl to make sure you don't shoot what your not and catch more than your suppose to.. etc.. they don't care how fast you drive or even if your pissed drunk.

I'd check with a local attorney cause each state is different. In someplaces they can bust you for driving drunk on private property

Its not illegal. You do not need a drivers license to drive a "farm vehicle", and basically anything can be called a farm vehicle if you use it on the farm.
