New Canadian Copyright Law to Target Illegal Downloaders Up to $500 Fine
Interesting new law that goes into effect today that can prosecute file downloaders up to $500 and up to $20,000 for commercial cheaters:

Will they enforce it, or use it only when they can not nail someone for something else.

thanks for posting it WG:thumbsup

Canada has some SERIOUS internet speeds, for the average home user. I was able to get 10mbps for $60 a month, and could max the line with ease. A feat that seems almost impossible on U.S. ISP's, hell damn near impossible to get a full 10mb pipe in a house, period.
Anyway... Lots of office buildings/condos in Canada share a big pipe, no one person is monitored over the others at the ISP level - just a big pipe being shared by lots of people. I wonder how that is going to pan out for piracy? |
