Are Adult Production Companies Going to Leave Florida?
I was talking to two of my friends that are attorneys today.
They asked me if adult content production companies are going to leave the State of Florida and move their base of operations to California as a result of the Max Hardcore conviction. I told them I doubted it, and they reminded that California is the ONLY state where there is legal precedence, Miller vs. California, that allows the filming of XXX content. The more we talked, the more I agreed with them. I was wondering if adult production companies are going to start pulling out of Florida and move out to California? |
You'd be nuts to shoot porn in FL now.

no its not illegal in florida its gray. A obscenity win has nothing to do with shooting porn. The one that could fuck it up is Ray guhn, that's state not fed and if it winds up in fl being in a porn is prostitution. Say goodbye to shooting fl.

Your avatar says your are based in Canda, maybe you are unaware of how serious of an issue this is for US based production companies. |
Come on.
I am sure that someone else other than Jay-Rock has seen the writing on the wall and is moving out to California. |
The question doesn't quite make sense in light of the fact that Max lives and shoots in California. Its his content that makes him a target. The venue where he was prosecuted could have been anywhere once the Feds set him up, eg., Pennsylvania like the Rob Black case or somewhere else.

It has everything to do with the fact that he was not tried in California where he lives and shoots. He was tired and found guilty in Tampa, Florida because his servers where hosted there. Shooting porn in the State of Flordia, is a grey area, a shade of grey that is quickly turning black, and one that I would not choose to take my chances in court over. Given that there is also the Ray Guhn case going on in the State of Florida, for shooting content more tame than many members of this board produce, one would be best advised to seriously think about moving their production to California. |
