"Blind eye to Opium" video about the opium issue in Afghanistan

https://youtube.com/watch?v=aKt-N4QBZ3E

Very informative. Apparently you can buy a kilo of Opium in Kandahar (openly & easily) for around $500-800 (bought originally from the farmers at $300 per kilo).

They are even happy to show you the "good shit" right on the street.

Now most people would be angry to see such a thing. I'm actually cool with it. I'm glad one country isn't raging a losing war against drugs. :thumbsup

Very cool video to watch you will enjoy it :pimp

Pot may be an exception I agree, as it is less harmful than alcohol in my opinion. But you have to consider how much legalised drugs, such as cigarettes and alcohol cost the system a year as well. How many deaths, crashes, illnesses, etc occur as a result of their wide acceptance. I know people claim that legalising drugs won't necessarily lead to a rise in overal usage, but I think alcohol tends to prove otherwise. A lot of people who wouldn't touch drugs normally (or at least regularly) will happily get hammered every weekend because it is so socially acceptable. Pot I can understand legalising, but heroin, coke? No way.

I'll watch that tonight.

Heroin & coke maybe me dangerous in large amounts (people overdose) but the actual real "danger" related to drugs are their prohibition.

If you legalize drugs you'll drop the murder rate by 90%, all violent crimes by more than half, robberies & burglaries by 75%. You could also cut the poverty rate by more than half. It's pretty much the "cure all" for most of the worlds problems. Let people drown their sorrows any way they want so long as its as cheap as sugar & we'll have no problems.....other than people showing up late/hungover for work & some overdoses.

If any drug should be criminalized it should be alcohol. It is by far the most dangerous drug of all. But all the rich socialites need it to overcome their "stick up the ass" syndrome just enough to get laid.
