lets say I already have 200 videos that I want to create a VOD with. is there an out of the box solution to help things along to where all I need to do is customize the colors and layout and add in the billing structure etc etc

I am interested in this as well. I followed a link to a software solution a couple of weeks ago that I can no longer find now. I think it was a version similar to what Score uses on ScoreOnDemand.com.

fabianb 06-07-2008 12:50 PM

hum..

Maybe I should have been more clear:
For the ones that don't have the cash to invest in a decent vod system we do offer a % solution.

For the ones that do have the cash .. well .. cash = king.

mostly what go the best is a custom made layout and a custom made software that display everything way you need it.:)

I am with www.objectcube.com , all most all the major VOD guys use our software.

But this is not a low cost solution....

I believe you Jay. But I specifically found another service's website that had a % split solution that had exactly the same options as the ScoreOnDemand setup, and it mentioned somewhere that was based on the same technology base. I thought I bookmarked it but now I can't find it in my history.

Anyway, I am also looking for a reasonably priced solution for a VOD & downloadable clip delivery that I can either license outright or at least get a better split then the existing third party companies offer a studio.

Have you looked at clips4sale ? As for VOD what business model are you looking at, pay per min or per clip sales ?. Most of the large VOD providers will set you up with a private white label solution (your own domain and your own content) but the pay out will 50 / 50 split.

Feel free to email me at jay @ objectcube.com and i will put you in touch with few of the sites who does this

I am mostly interested in downloadable clip sales but I also sell through VOD/PPV sites too. I already do business with most of the VOD services that stream my full length DVD movies like AdultRental, Hotmovies, AEBN etc who all pay on the order of 20%. It may work out to much as 40%-50% if you send the traffic to your own white label and own the studio for the movie minutes watched.

Then you have Clips.com for downloadable clip sales who pays 40% I believe, as well as Clips4Sale who pays 60%- currently the best deal for a studio. Between all that it is okay extra money, especially since it's their traffic driving most of the sales.

But really I want to license a solution to earn 100% of my downloadable clip revenue on sales generated from my own traffic (without spending mega bucks to get it) or, alternatively a downloadable clip service that works like Clips4Sale does but where the split is much higher than 60% for the studio.

I just checked that out on your site, and it seems like another cool option for a webmaster or studio to keep the lions share of their downloadable clip revenue. Plus you can use campaign tracking through your biller unlike with a third party solution like C4S. The only thing that I don't like is that I find the buying "token" concept a little clunky and unnecessary. They could have just made the solution work with $x per video clip to the end user just as easily. If I did try it I would make it $1 per token so at least the numbers were equivalent.

Yeah, it's totally user-adjustable. You can make the tokens any price you want. My pricing is just what works for me. But you can make it a dollar no problem. I've had good success with it in the way that I use it...which is to make money from the surfer who isn't interested in a full membership but will download the clips they want. And as you said...it passes on the tracking code...and in my case the affiliates code so they get credit (thought that's not a concern for you if I read your post correctly)
