As far as I know the general rule is 3 out-bound links will invalidate and inbound link. Am I write in thinking that this would apply to youtube videos embedded into blog posts?

I'm not sure where I read it but I've taken it as a given for a long time. What do you think? Will embedding too many youtube videos into a blog affect the SEO? The reason I ask is each of my posts will, by necessity, be linking out to something else already...

No, embedded videos don't hurt rankings at all.

It may even help rankings as video indexing develops more.

Also make sure that you modify the Youtube embed code so that it validates. Not sure if it'll help with SEO, but it'll keep things nice and neat.

there is no 'links rules' when it comes to seo! Just optimize for users!
