Hello,

My name is Joel Brenner and I have suffered from chronic anxiety, and agoraphobia, which brings on seizures since 1981. My doctors have diagnosed it as a a major disability under the American with Disability Act.

For the last 4 years I have worked with a very well train and gentle service dog. She helps me in numerous ways and has provided me with a better life. She goes into the hospital with me, the dentist, restaurants, the beach-pretty much anywhere I go.

On Wednesday, December 20th, I was walking by A tattoo place "Hart & Huntington" the one on TV and though it would be neat to get one (I have a few) so I walked in to get information.

As soon as I walked in this burly man told me to get out. I tried to hand him my ADA card and he again said "get now, we don't allow dogs! Again I tried to explain that this was not a pet, but a service animal, but he would not listen. There must have been 8-10 people sitting in the waiting area watching. The third time I said that I am disabled..and he said "you don't look blind to me" and laughed...a few of he people around joined in. As soon as 2 other huge "bouncer like" employees walked towards me, I felt I could not breath and hurried out. That's the last I remember. Witnesses said that walked a few feet and collapsed. Someone called 911.

The Fire Department Paramedics arrived shortly and put me in rescue truck and took my vitals I was told that they were in the danger zone. The kept me there for about a half hour or so, and was released.

I was advised to go to the Police station and fill out a report, but they said that no crime was committed and they refused to make one out.

I am really just seeking a written apology and for them to be educated so the trauma I went through doesn't happen to another soul. ( Well a donation to my trainer/breeder would be nice) Just because they are celebrities doesn't mean they are outside the law and are able to knock the layman down.

First of all the shop owner would be correct and have legal precedence to back him stating that since his place of business could no doubt be classified as a place of human medical care / surgery and then that the premises must meet state and federal guidelines for sanitation.

That being said ? I could go deep into this.. but the guys should and will receive absolutely nothing

oh I forgot to mention the fact that he was not injured at all as a result of actions or products provided by the shop.... so no money for you:2 cents:

i think he would argue that the way he was treated caused him injury. but as his letter states , all he wants is an apology.

I think the tattoo shop guys are pretty fucked in the head if it went down how this guy says it did. but theres always 2 sides to every story.

I agree that the shop owners could have possibly shown more tact and sensitivity to this guys situation, however the law is the law.
An injury lawsuit cannot be based on the way he was treated….

Now say for instance another patron of this establishment were in the process of receiving a tattoo ( considered surgery in some states) and fell victim to some form of bacterial infection due to the presence of the animal… then that person would have a case…

But even that scenario would be sketchy unless the infection caused permanent injury such as complications from the infection once the infection was found to be the cause of the infection in the first place.

But in the case of the blind patron above , he has zero to base a lawsuit on.

people like that annoy me. what if the store owner had an allergy? can he tell him to fuck off then? i guess this pussies right to have a service animal where ever he goes supersedes the shop owners right to refuse service to ANYONE.

VICTIM "but im disabled! i need this dog to get around."

ASSHOLE "sir, it doesnt matter, you need to leave."

VICTIM "wait!!! i have rights! dont YOU see this card? it says im disabled! my doctor says so."
