Adult sites now accepting PayPal?

Yes.

Now, use PayPal anywhere online

The new PayPal Plug-In lets you shop securely anywhere online - even on sites that don't currently accept PayPal.

After Shock Media 06-04-2008 03:32 PM

Is that the browser plug in that gives you a unique card number for each transaction that is tied to your paypal account?

If so I have had it in my browser now for a little over a year.

GetSCORECash 06-04-2008 03:35 PM

I'm sure once they get wind of adult transactions they will keep all your money.

Yes that one, I received information about it today as if it were a brand new offering.

Still cool - genuine credit card transactions using your Paypal balance should bypass all adult limitations that Paypal normally has.

They say that you can use the card number anywhere. I doubt they`ll blacklist just ccbill, or just epoch, etc as some mainstream services use these as well. I will test. ;)

xxxRumor 06-04-2008 06:15 PM

will it rebill?

madfuck 06-04-2008 06:36 PM

its a bunch of bullshit

Yes it will. I was curious about it so when I signed up to clearwire ISP while I was in hospital last year I used one of those generated card numbers. Figured may as well check and see. Sure enough a debit hit my card every month.

Adultnet 06-04-2008 09:26 PM

im sure paypal know people will buy adult products online with thier accounts.

Pornwolf 06-04-2008 10:51 PM

This feature needs to get popular faster.

d-null 06-04-2008 10:55 PM

how strict is their 'no adult' policy?

like say you sell a domain with no site on it, something like xxxpussyhumpers.org just for a random example..... could they refuse the transaction because they deem the domain you are selling to be an adult transaction?

Rochard 06-04-2008 11:39 PM

Yeah, been here done that.

Paypal once came blazing onto the scene and went for adult processing. Then a month later dropped it all without warning. Fuck them.

After Shock Media 06-05-2008 12:14 AM

This is not them processing for anything. What they are doing is just giving their users a disposable mastercard number to prevent fraud and identity theft. It is just like using your paypal debit card but just with a disposable number. With their debit card you can go to any local porn shop and buy whatever or use it anywhere else that mastercard is accepted.

Exactly, its genius for those sitting around with paypal and no way to buy shit with it. Can we promote this option on paysites? ;)

"Use your Paypal account here..."

All while billing through Netbilling, CCBill, Epoch, etc.

GCN 06-13-2008 07:27 PM

i doubt !

camgirlshide 06-13-2008 07:41 PM

if it is processed through master card can they really impose their own limitations without violating their tos with master card?

Barefootsies 06-13-2008 07:52 PM

Goddammit people, go read their T.O.S..

Next, bone up on the difference between digital products, and tangibles.

:disgust

RegUser 06-29-2008 05:08 AM

The last I saw, they seem to have removed word adult from their TOS.
May be competiition from other processors has changed their mind and they are open to porn again
I also know that many adult message boards openly accept paypal payments
so is anyone using this plug in?
whats latest news?

BV 06-29-2008 05:16 AM

the plugin would be for the surfer not the webmaster site owner

if paypal got back into adult that would be cool, i'm heading over to their tos now to take a look.

cranki 06-29-2008 05:21 AM

interesting... they probably realized they're losing a lot of customers by banning adult transactions?!

Prohibited Activities
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:
1. violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation

2. relate to sales of (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (e) items that are considered obscene, (f) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (g) certain sexually oriented materials or services, or (h) certain firearms, firearm parts or accessories, ammunition, weapons or knives

opulence 06-29-2008 11:04 AM

Paypal has earned themselves a horrible reputation amongst mainstream webmasters, many of which have moved onto the several other billing solutions available now. This could influence Paypal to accept adult transactions.

Atticus 06-29-2008 11:06 AM

If a PayPal account holder has downloaded the PayPal plugin they can purchase an adult membership (as long as the site accepts MC). The funds are withdrawn from their PayPal account.

The plugin creates a single use MasterCard number and automatically fills in the cc billing page info.

brassmonkey 06-29-2008 11:16 AM

if you get their blessing lol i have a letter so i can take paypal for adult goods

iseeyou 06-29-2008 12:25 PM

paypal is already billing for one of the largest porn sites - rapidshare.com

they will even bill for illegal porn as long as it is uploaded to a file sharing site and not inside a member area.

RegUser 06-29-2008 01:17 PM

rapidshare is not the only site
they have been accepting payments for several porn boards and have not blinked any eyelid even though these porn boarbs have all kind of rape clips as well as stolen content, pirated software etc.
still i will wait for an ooficial response

SNRProductions 06-29-2008 01:28 PM

I hate paypal. I thought I'd be able to use them on a non nude site when I first started in the biz and apparently that was a no go...they limited that account. I took them off the site as they requested and just used it to pay the models etc and they still kept limiting me. I couldn't do anything to lift the limitation no matter what happened. Paypal blows. I doubt they'll ever go adult. This paypal card might be a way around it but it's still not the same.

Iron Fist 06-29-2008 01:46 PM

Just got defrauded through PayPal, and get this -- PayPal decided in my favor, because they NEVER logged into my account, all of a sudden this plugin shows up and 450 bucks dissappears out of my account for no reason. I'm thinking they've got a security problem with the plugin, because it was paypal who froze the account before they could suck my credit card dry...

PayPal sucks - it's insecure, and having your bank account tied to it is suicide. Needless to say, I am so GLAD I didn't have my bank account tied to it, or else my bank would of changed me NSF fees for every time they tried to suck more fund out ($35 bucks for every attempt). Simple dispute with the credit card company and all is going back to normal - however I can use anything until they mail me a new card.

GFY PayPal....

Manowar 06-29-2008 02:24 PM

no way will paypal get back into adult, no way

brassmonkey 06-29-2008 02:31 PM

my bank said make a dummy account because they screw people i wont say how because scammers are listening

cotsios 06-29-2008 02:59 PM

paypal sucks/ they fucked us once with $5k

acctman 06-29-2008 10:08 PM

rapidshare is not a porn site though. its a file share/upload site, totally different from a subscription porn only membership site.

Matiz 06-30-2008 01:23 AM

"We?re sorry but the PayPal Plug-In is currently only available in the United States"

paypal is processing payments for rapidshare.com which enables downloading of pornographic images (and other stuff too) which sometimes even includes illegal pornography and other illegal stuff. rapidshare does not remove files on the weekend. I report files on a Friday afternoon and they are not removed until Monday afternoon. you can upload and download cp all weekend on rapidshare.

Think about this? What if I sell bombs, guns, etc in a vending machine. In order to buy the weapons, you insert a credit card and must agree to the TOS. One day, a terrorist buys weapons from my vending machine and kills many people. I argue that I am not responsible because he violated my TOS. My TOS states that only licensed professionals who have a legal right to buy my weapons may buy them.

of course, guns and porn are different but I think the operator of a vending machine which distrubutes guns or porn or whatever has some responsbility to check who is buying the product and is partially responsible for damages. I think only requiring people to click on a box "I agree" is not enough. I don't want rapidshare to be forced to shutdown. I just think they should pay some fines and/or compensation when their service is used for something illegal. And paypal should also pay fines because they also profit from illegal files on rapidshare.

RegUser 07-02-2008 06:34 PM

so did anyone get a yay or ney from paypal
i see lots of porn boards openly using paypal now a days
