I am watching a police press conference about the sniper shootings.

Cream colored van being reported by the press. Not correct.
AK-74 being reported by the press. Not correct.
Partial license plate. Not correct.
Sniper stepping outside of van to make shot on the last shooting. Not correct.

Chief Moose is asking the press to stop inteverviewing people and reporting what so called "witnesses" are telling the press. He has repeatedly asked the press to allow the authorities to investigate the case and process so called "witness" statements. At least one witness has been totally discredited.

Apparently no white kids have been kidnapped today and no Democrats are getting blowjobs, so the media needs something to do. :)

the other day i was watching and they were talking about how dependable eye witness testimony is... i took a class in college that showed how fucked up the mind gets in times of chaos and proved how shitty eye witness testimony really is. this guy is just going to stop shooting people and he's going to fade away, back to the life of a regular peon

I wish they'd at least give him a cool serial killer name.

My question is this. Why do they even bother with press conferences? Most of them go like this...

Reporter: Can you tell us about the van?
Moose: I'm sorry...we can't divulge that

Reporter: Can you give us a profile of the shooter?
Moose: I'm sorry, we can't release that information at this time.

Reporter: What can you tell us?
Moose: Well, someone else has been shot...

Well, shit, we already knew that.

I would think that the more information they release, the more likely that the sniper would be caught. That's why we have "America's most wanted", and "Amber alerts". The general population could be your best resource right now...

There have been many senarios and studies done about eye witness testimony and it has repeatedly proved to be virtually worthless. People see what they think they see, not what they actually see. In addition even short term memory of an event rapidly becomes distorted and degraded.

there was an amber report last week, or 2 weeks ago, and everyone was bitching b/c it didn't work right... something about how the emergency system didn't report it b/c they didn't know they were suppose to. telling the public what the police have is also informing the sick fuck what they have on him. it just makes it easier for him to change things up. i don't see why they don't come out and lie, saying they have a bunch of shit they don't. get the snip thinking they're totally off, then when he tries to strike again, he takes it in the ass. i think the dumbest thing is the spy plane, that everyone knows about... so tell me, what makes it a spy plane exactly?
