Canadians - regarding wireless internet via "connection cards"
So i am looking into getting one of these "connection cards" from bell or rogers that lets you surf the net anywhere in canada or the world depending on where they have "roaming agreements" with and i was just wondering if anyone else uses this and what they think of it. Is it worth the money? Does it work well?

My parents have a Rogers one. It works, but dont expect it to be cheap if you use it lots and dont expect it to match any high speed connection rate.
Its not slow, per say, but once you are used to a good high speed connection it can be a bit frustrating at times. |

1.5 Mbps download and 256 Kbps upload is what the rogers site says. As more and more people are going wireless N its getting harder for me to find somewhere that I cant just leach an unsecured connection. Really any where that I take my laptop I can find a connection, although its not always the best, but its usually good enough to get my email shit done. As far as security, just dont leave your computers network open and you should be fine. |
1 gig maximum? Are you serious? I can do that in a few hours.

They do work well and are really handy. Don't know how much they go for as my company pays for mine but definetly convenient when your traveling.
