yo any 3D artists in here?

if i buy a 3D model off one of these sites that sells them do I just have to get Studio 3D Max and open it up in there and just rotate it around to a position i like and then export it into Photoshop - that's all I want to do - or do I have to apply the textures and all that?
Do the models come with textures applied?

thanks

you prolly have to do the joint moving yourself, or if there are animations included, you could then just peruse thru frames of animation.....

with that said make sure it has the skeleton (joints) in it.... not sure what 3D Studio uses, may not be called joints

as far as textures, depends on product, each one is different and should state what it has...

If you're not that experienced with 3D(sounds like you're not), then you shouldn't mess with MAX. It's expensive and DEEP -- meaning it's a pain in the ass for even an experienced 3d user. Serious overkill for what you're talking about.

get something like Daz studio, Quidam or Poser, which will do exactly what you need without needing to go to school for 2 years before you can accomplish your goals.

It depends on what you buy..

Some sites sell stuff modeled with textures some don't.. It all depends on what you buy or request..

MAX is no problem don't listen to these guys... If you already have it or plan to use it don't worry it's easy for what you plan to do...
