Congrats on the 7k, and :321GFY to you too!

I was truly saddened when I heard that Phil Hartman was shot and killed by his wife, who then commited suicide.

Since we are remembering Phil Hartman, here is some lesser known trivia about him:

• He helped create the PeeWee Herman character, and co-wrote the script of "PeeWee's Big Adventure" with his longtime friend Paul Reubens (PeeWee).

• Hartman was also a guite good Graphic Designer (his college major), having created (among many other things)...

He created a logo for Crosby, Stills and Nash:

He designed the "America's Greatest Hits: History" album cover (Hartman did the painting for the cover as well):

He designed the "Legend" album cover for Poco (Hartman did the illustration too):

• Phil Hartman was the voice of 19 characters on the animated sitcom "The Simpsons", and his voice appears in 53 episodes of the show.

One of my favorite characters was his impression of Phil Donahue:

Phil Hartman as Phil Donahue on Hulu (sorry about the short commercial at the start)

After SNL, I loved Phil's character on the hilarious "News Radio" TV show.

Phil Hartman was truly a funny and gifted man.

RIP Phil Hartman...

Posting spurts. Post 60 times one day, go dormant for a month. :thumbsup

I don't see getting shot by a lover who then kills self as the worst possible way to go.

You could die of flesh eating strep, you could die in some silly war, stepping on a landmine, or flooded or through starvation because some asisnine government wants to show off its non-existing relevance, or by having a dumpster mash your brains out in a random drunken brawl.

You could die in prison, or in a retirement home, or in the hospital, or in a leper colony, or in Florida.

I don't think he had it that bad.

Congrats on the 7k

And RIP to Phil Hartman, I loved watching him on TV from SNL to various movies

Houstguest being one of my all time favorites.

Do you remember the SNL scene, closing out the show with just him and Chris Farley on the stage. Ending with them looking in each others eyes. To have lost them both so soon after that aired... what a eerie feeling. A truly great moment in TV
