I cant believe its taken this long for someone to do it.

How the fuck can they patent something like that. Solar Cells are already out there and I assume are patented.. How the fuck can they get a new patent just because they might at sometime combine two existing products.

Can I patent Solar Cells on Cardboard boxes.. I mean really WTF is up with the patent office anymore.

It was more a matter of cost (and probably still is), solar powering anything more advanced than a calculator isn't cheap.

yeah except when Apple holds the patent you will only see this technology on over priced propietary Apple products.

Soon, we will be able to pay for stuff with our iphones. No more bulky wallet one day...

I thought the same thing but if you read the article the patent is for putting the solar cells under the lcd screen, which I have never seen done before. So its probably specific only to that application.
