Is the economy so bad you really can get a Viper for $47,000

Wow, a Viper with 10,000 miles for $47,000. Seems like a steal. A convertible corvette with similar miles would be about the same. Maybe 5-8k less. Which had you rather have?

Spunky 05-26-2008 04:42 PM

That's quite the deal

Thats what I was thinking. I could move next door to work so I dont spend much on gas and roll a viper everywhere I go :1orglaugh

evildick 05-26-2008 04:45 PM

Sounds to me like the person selling it was either desperate to get rid of it, or an idiot.

2004 Vipers with low miles are still retailing closer to 60K.

The Judge 05-26-2008 05:02 PM

it;s still a Dodge
:1orglaugh

jeffrey 05-26-2008 07:51 PM

Yes the economy in the states is that bad.
I bought an 07 Trail Blazer SS loaded, with 5k miles for 26 grand a few months.
Same thing here in Alberta is damn near 40 grand still.

starpimps 05-26-2008 07:56 PM

not bad at all..but i want one that turns into a bullet proof killing machine

SmokeyTheBear 05-26-2008 09:15 PM

one word .
EBAY

jakethedog 05-26-2008 09:15 PM

for their normal retail .. they one fun chunk of metal .. not the safest ..not the best handling .. not the smoothest ..and ya they break .. but for $ value wind in your hair horse-power burn out screaming fast machines .. they are a blast ..

Penny24Seven 05-26-2008 09:45 PM

I would never sell my cars on Ebay. You can only get so much without someone to see the car first. I have bought my last 5 or 6 cars on Ebay though. Just got a 2008 Corvette with 4000 miles a couple months back. Looks brand new. I think it is the place to BUY BUY BUY

eightmotives 05-26-2008 09:47 PM

Yah the economy is completely fucked.

Yeah, because Dodge is so fucking horrible. In fact, All American cars suck donkey balls.

I've been driving nothing but Ford since 1994 - Two trucks, eight or nine Mustangs, and a Taurus, all new except for my current car. The only problem I've had to date was on my current car, a 2004 Mustang Cobra. The wire on the alternator failed, which fried the alternator. It was replaced free of charge, gave me a new battery, and they did my 20k tune up free of charge.

Beat that with a stick.

I thought someone stole your account for a second.
Do you just get bored with the mustangs? I have a 2006 and with the one problem I had they pretty much treated me like a king too. I was surprised. They are really going out of their way to please. At least in my town

Corleone 05-26-2008 11:38 PM

Violetta 05-27-2008 12:04 AM

I knowed someone will post it. Dodge and Al Bundy are practicly sinonyms now.

ajrocks 05-27-2008 06:33 AM

Dodge is a crap make but the Viper has been written up as a great car. For that price as long as it hasn't been in an accident is a deal.

tranza 05-27-2008 07:16 AM

Come on...It's a DODGE!!

pornguy 05-27-2008 07:21 AM

A fried of mine had one, for 4 months. Bought it off the show room floor, and took him 4 months to sell it. He said it was the biggest piece of shit.

Buzz_Aziani 05-27-2008 12:35 PM

Vipers can look pretty cool, Especially with the right stuff in them.

That's trade-in value, which is always lower.

Private party value is over 50,000 and suggested retail price is 56,000. (depending on where you live)

D Ghost 05-27-2008 02:36 PM

fuck a Viper

so you would be willing to pay more than trade value on a car ???

Depends on the car. For a sports car with low miles, yes.

The idea behind trade-in value is that the dealer hopes they can lowball you enough to still make a profit off of your car.

That's why most smart people will try to sell their car privately instead of getting shafted by the dealer on a trade.

I was more pointing out the fact that gas guzzlers are dropping in price left and right.

BetChips 05-27-2008 07:56 PM

Nice Car. Hopefully my mainstream sites start making some serious coin so I can get one.

farkedup 05-27-2008 07:57 PM

this has nothign to do with gas mileage, you simply don't buy a car like this to drive it 5k miles a month. Its a 1k mi/mnth MAX type car. i don't know about you but hell even 500 miles in a viper is harsh.

The corvette is the "civilized" sports car. The Viper is all out badass who gives a shit about comfort, its supposed to be a track car...

I'm 5'8, 210lbs and they are a bitch to get in and out of (sidepipes) but worth it as long as you're not getting in and out constantly.

Almost all cars sell trade in for private party sales.

People realise car dealers are just ripping people so let em go without letting them add up their extra fee's for doing nothing. Been like that for 2-3 years now

Kudles 05-28-2008 11:53 AM

Not bad you should buy and then sell it!
