Hey anyone here from Quito (Ecuador)?

Just wondering what the property market is like out there right now? Also, how the fuck do you breathe up there 3000 metres above sea level?

i use to live in Guayaquil, (lasted only like 8 months) in 2006. Went to Quito for a week. Awesome city. Awesome party scene at night and feels very european. Dirt cheap to be there. My place in Guayaquil was a 2 br 3ba 1600 sq ft with a rooftop pool on my bldg on the Amazon river, purchased for $89k. Marble floors, granite kitchen... the works. I believe quito prices are the same. Great buys there but the weather blows and its not so safe. If you are relocating to Ecuador, checkout GUayaquil. Much better place to live...

I've read some bad stories about people with knives stealing your shit. How dangerous is it in Quito? Also How much better is Quayaquil and what other good areas are there? Are they much better?
