Hey, I'll take any affiliates that convert well too :thumbsup

If your looking for an affiliate program though, check out RewardThem

You can host our clips on legal tube sites.

..upon request I have about 50 clips at 1-3mins each that I can post on your tube, or you can get to post yourself.. you'll have to mail me for those though, with a url(s) of where they'll be posted, as I only want them on sites with clear advertising to my sites.

Hey halfpint, see sig for fresh embeddable videos in several niches :)!

WarChild 05-27-2008 09:39 AM

Reminder, tubes are not "illegal" because someone on GFY said they were.

Anyone hiding behind the DMCA, is in fact protected by that law. That makes tube sites full of stolen content legal, as long as users are doing the upload. :)

Regardless of whether they're legal or not, tube sites of that nature are bad for the industry. I'll let the court decide the legality of the issue. IMO, if you "steal" the content, you're a thief.

LOL, no they are illegal because multiple court cases have held that even working with them can be willful vicarious infringement...

stupid

I didn't say it was right to steal anybody's content.

I run tube sites. I don't steal content, nor do I let users upload stolen content, period.

However, I'm getting kind of sick of hearing the term "illegal tube site". If they're "illegal", then call the cops. Should be simple.

The fact of the matter is, that there is some legislation in place, that's quite dated and ineffective, that protects "hosts". How is it illegal if it's protected by law?

Finally, it's important that we as a group don't support any of these sites who are infringing upon your copyrights. I suggest we all start with the big ones, the "illegal search engines". Here's a good start, look at these bastards: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...+atkingdom.com

Multiple court cases have held that even working with a tube site is a willful vicarious infringement? Really? Can you show us some of these cases where tube sites have been losing in court? Have you been to the future and know the Viacom vs. Google outcome or something?

Look, don't get me wrong, which you obviously have. I'm not saying it's good to steal content, or even saying that it's not content theft; clearly it is.

The point I'm trying to make here, which slipped passed you entirely, is that the heart of the issue that needs to be addressed is not "tube sites", it's DMCA period. Let's get focused.

"A federal judge has ordered ShowStash.com to pay $2.7 million in damages to members of the Motion Picture Association of America for posting links to pirated films on third-party sites.

The order this week came after a similar $1.3 million judgment issued May 7 against CinemaTube.net. The sites were also ordered to not engage in other activities that would infringe on studios' copyrights."

Yes but the owner of a site posting links is not protected by DMCA. They're actually providing you with a way to get the stolen content.

We'll see how Viacom/Google comes out, but again show me where someone has been prosecuted for hosting "user uploaded" content, and respecting DMCA notices. I mean, YouTube is still around, isn't it?!?

Let's just call them "Immoral Tube Sites", and get focused on forcing updates to DMCA. That's what ultimately needs to be done to increase effectiveness of your ability to enforce your copyrights.
