Why do americans end each sentence in a higher note??? and other annoying stuff...

Starting each sentence low and slowly going to higher note by the end of the sentence... That's so annoying... more and more american people talk like that. Does anyone know where this is coming from? I know female movie actresses and models started to talk like that, but now it's spreading around....
And why do they say "like" and "you know" in each sentence??
For example:"Is that like, you know, a bear or something?"

It's so fucking annoying, they even do it in movies lately, can't listen to that any longer...
Anyone else having the same problem with this situation?

I have only noticed young American and Canadian females talking like that and it's kind of cute in a way. It would be downright stupid if an older female or men did that though.

I don't think "most" Americans talk that way. Just young high school and college age girls.

Personally, I hate it. Especially when they're ending each sentence like they're asking a question even if what they just said is clearly a statement. It makes women who do it sound unsure, vapid and stupid. Huge pet peeve of mine.

I had a 30+ female vendor that was pitching a ad network to me that spoke like that. I walked out.

Oh my god..... this is a major pet hate of mine. Its one of those things you can't tell someone off for because it doesnt break any rules relating to the law or moral codes or politeness etc...

Yet you sometimes feel that people who do that should be electrocuted - just because youd like to hear them squeal and see if they have a higher tone at the end :1orglaugh

Why do all idiots who start anti-American threads generalize?

...wait :1orglaugh

SmokeyTheBear 05-26-2008 09:49 AM

why do most non-americans end each sentence with the word fizzlebob ?

I feel the same way about people that start comments with "Oh my god."
