my best friend has one and i use it all the time. Its REALLY awesome. very small and portable.. amazing battery life.. extremely fast because of it's solid state drive.. and its really handy and not expensive. I recommend ;)

Twoface31 05-26-2008 02:21 AM

jscott 05-26-2008 02:41 AM

I have one, I NEVER used it though so I gave it to my gf.

It's an awesome little toy but it's nearly impossible for grownups to use it, the keyboard is SO tiny, difficult to type.

Anyways, they are cute, fun, neat, but dont think you can get any work done on them hehe

Great for airports layovers, or hotel lobbies etc :)

thats where id use it for yes - to take along, I know working on a laptop isnt what I want, its to check mail, check support tickets etc when Im not at my desktop

thanks

so I went looking at a PC store

tiny tiny keyboard not sure if you can even type an email on there thats longer then 5 words, its cheap 300 euros but not sure its worth it

GrouchyAdmin 05-28-2008 01:21 AM

Linux and KDE. I'd buy it, if it was cheaper. I'm too cheap to pay money for such a worthless little thing, though. It's a bigger, fatter, less-software-for-it Palm.

Look carefully - some of them have HALF the HD and RAM, too. Some only have like 2GB/256MB; I think those are called 'Surf'. I looked into them about 3 months ago, and immediately dismissed them as a cute, but mostly worthless, toy.

the surf ones are with the small hd and no cam, I couldnt care less bout the cam but a 2GD hd minus Linux etc leaves nothing, youre right its worthless then.

the 4GB is what I looked at its approx $470 here and thats too much for a bigger PDA

Fuck that. That's not too far off from a real laptop.

Shit. I forgot a friend of mine taught me some Dutch back in '00-'01. I just went straight through the Dell site and after I read the prices, realized it was a different language.

If you get a real laptop, instead, send me some stroopwafels. :)

I want to install a PC into my car, primarily to log GPS tracks and capture images from a front and rear camera. Hmmmmm, maybe with a bit of hacking the EEE can do that.

Geotagged picture logs of journeys into the unknown.

Plus it will capture dickhead drivers in suburban areas. Maybe I should start a shame site. :)

..then again, you could get lost in Alice Springs. If that happens, you'll want at least two cameras and a GPS. If you show up at night, go slow and turn off the headlights - I hear they still consider artificial light to be a thing of the devil.

Alice Springs? Nah, I only have to drive 5 mins before I'm passing through uninhabited deadlands. :winkwink:

Ashley023 05-28-2008 03:45 AM

that looks cool. Once I'll buy a smaller one instead of my Acer

EuroRev_Stacey 05-28-2008 05:17 AM

I am planning to get one coz it really is so portable :)

V_RocKs 05-28-2008 05:33 AM

Waste of time...

tranza 05-28-2008 08:48 AM

Cool laptop...but i dont have one

tony286 05-28-2008 08:53 AM

my wife has a pink one she loves it.

G.A.F 05-28-2008 08:59 AM

Looks pretty good. But I prefer at least 12 to 13" screen. 8 is fine to watch movies, but not to work. Letters are too small for me.

MandyBlake 05-28-2008 09:38 AM

i have the pink 4gb one.
i love it. its great to take to coffee shops to surf.
the only thing i don't like about it is the keyboard. its glitchy. but i think they fixed that with the newer ones.
