The older I get, the more it hurts when I drink.

Last night I went out and had a few brews with some friends. I didn't get totally ruined or anything, but I wasn't feeling no pain either.. Today though, it's a different story. I feel like CRAP. My head is pounding.. Must be because I hit the dirty 30.:disgust

It is your body's way of protecting you from yourself. Ignore it and you could be dead of liver failure by the age of 40.

Spunky 05-24-2008 11:20 AM

Suck back another one to get the juices flowing again

Don't drink that often.

payd2purv 05-24-2008 11:20 AM

What did you eat that day?

You *NEVER* got a headache/hangover 5 - 7 years ago?

cranki 05-24-2008 11:21 AM

same here... there's no hangover without aspirin :thumbsup

Might have too. No advil in the house.

TheDoc 05-24-2008 11:22 AM

Nobody is going to die by 40 from having a few nights of heavy drinking followed up by a few beers a day. That won't do shit to a normal healthy person. If so, the majority of the South and part of Europe would all be dead by age 40.

Martin, just wait until you hit 32, oh the pain - the pain! - Btw, drink a huge ass glass of water before you crash out at night after drinking a lot. The lack of water in your body is a major factor in the morning headaches.

LAJ 05-24-2008 11:24 AM

Then you clearly aren't trying hard enough.

Complaining of a hangover at 30.... sheesh...

Had some PHO at lunch, pizza for dinner.

I got hang overs 5-7 years ago but Id feel alright by this time and would be out golfing on a day like today. Now I'm just going to lay around till the headache wears off.

rayadp05 05-24-2008 11:27 AM

I find that eating food and getting into a hot shower and letting the water run all over your head helps with hangovers. Of course, take aspirin too. BC powder asprin is STRONG. That's what I use.

I've been using the Chaser brand hangover prevention pills for years. I just recently switched to the Sobr-K brand of "Hangover Stoppers" since they are much cheaper and work just as well if not better.

They're activated carbon (a.k.a. charcoal) pills that absorb the toxins in liquor. They really do work. One of the few times that I forget to take them and went out drinking, I was hurting the next day.

I heard a rumor that the older you get, the more difficult drunken sex is also :1orglaugh

Zuzana Designs 05-25-2008 05:43 PM

I used to be able to get trashed and then get up early in the morning for work. Now I can't even come close. And I'm not even 29 yet :( I'll be in trouble at 30-hehe

GetSCORECash 05-25-2008 05:53 PM

My liver. when I hit 30.

my doc still ask if I drink allot, even though at most I'm a casual drinker, and haven't gotten trashed in years. I've been working the same bottle of rum for over five years now.

Martin 05-26-2008 07:27 AM

Well turns out that we did a few shots that I forgot about. That's why I think it hurt more this weekend. Still, it does hurt more then it use too for sure.

Scott McD 05-26-2008 07:41 AM

The only thing constant in this world is "change"

Indeed!

I'm 27 now, and doing a "weekender" just doesn't work for me at all now. A few years ago i could do a full weekend no problem...
