Rateit.com had a $6k offer, should I jump on it?

I had this domain sitting doing nothing for years, waiting for developement that hasn't happened.

So this guy wants it and I got him at $6k, you think it's a good deal for me, the seller?

it gets maybe 50 clicks a day and makes about $100 a year.

The Duck 05-24-2008 07:56 AM

10K is the magic number.

you think it's worth $10k huh.. hmmmm

skillfull 05-24-2008 08:38 AM

bah depands of your financial situation. If you need the money sell it, if its your only premium domain keep it or put it at 10k, if you own a lot of premium domain just sell it and buy something nice with the money (travel, electronics, whatever)

tony286 05-24-2008 08:43 AM

sell it,you never know what tomorrow brings and its worth $15 again.

Jim_Gunn 05-24-2008 08:55 AM

Take the money and run!

I dunno, I always need money... a few years ago the domain was obviously worth more during the "rate my" site frenzy.. it's just a matter of when is a good time to sell and if I can realistically ever get another offer that high, which is what I'm on the fence over.

And I have plenty of other premium domains, so that's not an issue.

nico-t 05-24-2008 09:54 AM

what's 'rateit'?

vipmedia 05-24-2008 11:16 AM

50 clicks a day should atleast earn you $1 a day, $365 a year.

Your landing page could be much better.

I was gonna say the same thing, the hype of the rating craze seems to have gone. I think you should consider the offer, maybe make a counteroffer of $7500. Making too high of a counteroffer could lose the prospective buyer and you might end up kicking yourself. Of course if you reasonably think its worth significantly more than 6k, then move on. Is there any indication the offer came from a company and not an indvidual?

bdld 05-24-2008 12:39 PM

its a good offer, sell it!

Vick! 05-24-2008 01:12 PM

counter him 10k

eightmotives 05-24-2008 01:13 PM

I was going to say the same thing, make the counter offer 10k. If the guy wants the domain that bad an extra 4k is small chips to him.

DirtyProfits 05-24-2008 01:42 PM

Ask €6,000.00 not $

farkedup 05-24-2008 01:44 PM

just take the money and run. you want 10, he wants 6, tell him you'd like to get 10 out of it but will take 8. Have him on somethign like ICQ and if he goes quiet for an hour just take the 6.

Miguel T 05-24-2008 02:53 PM

Im sure you can get around 10K for that one mate.

Iron Fist 05-24-2008 02:56 PM

Ahh hell go for 11K just for kicks :)

If you don't have to sell it, don't. It's more than paying for itself. Hold out for your price or counter with 10K and take 8K... You have options... :2 cents:

gleem 05-25-2008 08:04 AM

actually the bid started at $1500 and I got him upto $6k, so I think I'm taking the bid.

Jens Van Assterdam 05-25-2008 08:05 AM

Cash out.. 6k will make you a nice weekend somewhere :)

GAMEFINEST 05-25-2008 09:16 AM

He will turn that domain into a cow machine...with home loans, home rates etc

Vexes 05-25-2008 09:23 AM

Sell domain, invest the 6k into new domain inventory - repeat process.

digifan 05-25-2008 09:30 AM

Go sell it imho.

gleem 05-25-2008 10:13 AM

just started the escrow.com deal at 6k :)

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-25-2008 10:33 AM

Ya could prolly get more if you developed it.

But since it is just the domain, knock it 6k is a fair price.
It does have a very good mainstream value however.

That's actually a really good idea. Kind of like a calculator for loans and various interest rates...

Violetta 05-25-2008 02:23 PM

sell it... Buy beer!
