Is this something that we shouldn't want? I found this from doing a search at google on my domain name! This site is using our galleries as content to charge for access to his site.


At first I think, well extra traffic but then I am thinking it's just not right! Seems he is linking to the galleries themselves but if someone pays him to access our galleries, what's the chance they are going to sign up for one of our sponsors anyways? And, using our branded names to get hits from google.

He allows 3 free preview and then you have to pay to get access. Any thoughts on this??

Paid TGP? Sounds like way to go. Now, charging money on using other people's bandwidth and content, that's a big NO-NO :321GFY

I sent them 4 galleries, now his site is forbidden. Where's the link?

Not sure I really care about the paid tgp thing, but if I do a search on google for my domain name it give me a page with a list of all my galleries, thumbnail of each gallery and all! Some of which I make for my personal tgp and submit no where else.

I still get a 403 forbidden screen Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Another way to look at it is to treat his service like an AVS.

AVS make their money by charging admission to the network. Just because you did not refer the sale for the admit does not mean you've lost all your income opportunities. The pass holder can access your site and your banners then upsell him to your sponsors.

The advantages, it seems with this tgfind, is similar to an AVS:
1) qualifies your traffic -- aggregates a pool of paid customers with credit cards
2) targets traffic to your site because users will use the AVS internal link directory sytem using keywords/categories to find you.

It may be a WIN WIN situation....as long as he doesn't link directly to your pictures and skip out on your banners entirely.

There is some disadvantages as compared to an AVS though. Unlike some AVS that allow you to have exit consoles or exit tables, since TGFind indexes your gallery from your submissions to TGPs you may not have this added AVS advantage. Most TGPs ban exit consoles. There are also other AVS tricks that do not apply here.
