In your opinion, what is the best way to try and save gasoline?
what do you suggest?
|
pretty sure out of the choices provided riding a bicycle or walking would obviously be the best way to save gas since they both use none...
|
who killed the electric car?
|
stay home and make pornsites :2 cents:
|
ride a scooter or motorcycle
|
make more money to pay for fuel

Don't fucking drive.
I work from home and more or less everything we need is within walking distance - Fast food, Target, Safeway, and two dozen other places. On top of this, if you force yourself to walk every time you want to eat you just say "Fuck it, I'll make myself a sandwich". I sit here in my office usually till about midnight and my neighbors kill me. They have four cars, and I swear every half hour a car comes or leaves their house. Where the fuck are the fucking going? Don't get me wrong. I think nothing of hopping in my car to go out with a few friends or to see a movie, but that's like once a week or so. I can't remember the last time I filled up with gas. I feel sorry for everyone who drives to and from work every day. It's got to suck to be them. But perhaps it will make people figure out that they need to get a job closer to home, and need to stop running out to Wendy's every time they want some French fries. |
Oh, and I bought a bike too - but mostly for exercise.
Target is five blocks from my house by car, which means four lights and one stop sign. But if I ride my bike around the pond it's like two blocks and much quicker. |
you should of had a choice for "all of the above" ...
get an old diesel car and convert it to run on corn oil |
Can't gfy millionaires spare $500 for gas every month?
Move to fucking Venezuela or Iran already. |

I've found a source for free gas - absolutely free.
I fill my tank up every other day...doesn't cost me a dime :thumbsup |
Drive less.
In working from home some weeks go by where I only need to use the car maybe once, usually to go get groceries. I often walk to the bank and other errands, and live within walking or biking range of pretty much everything I need. I drive less than anyone I know. |

There's also some little things you can do to improve economy of your existing car...
- check your tires are correctly inflated - get your wheels balanced - turn off climate control if the weather is mild (ie no need for cooling, and no need for refrigerative demisting of the windscreen) - clear all the "actually use it once in a blue moon" junk out of your boot (obviously this doesn't include essential things such as jacks, spare wheel etc... more like those golf clubs you never use) - don't overfill your tank |

Breaking News: CNN reports that gas stations will start showing PORN movies on the screens of the pumps so that you can see someone else get screwed at the same time you do |
Another big one is to combine trips... not only does it save gas, it also saves time and overall is better for your vehicle anyway. If you have to go to a store on the other side of town, get as many trips as possible out of it. I did that today and got tons of errands done all on the same amount of gas I was going to use anyway.

Buy a pimp ride and forget about the costs...
Well actually I also drive a smaller efficient shit car through the city.. I don't need to impress anyone while going to the office and back, then I have a bit more pimp one for outside of the city trips or when I actually want to enjoy driving.. |
I seen electric scooters on sale..chicks would dig it

Bring FREE Enterprise back to the oil industry in America.
I know there is no one old enough on GFY to remember, but there used to be gas 'wars' where gas stations/companies would compete for your business. Allow oil companies to drill on US soil and make it easier to build refineries here. |
hmmm
definitely walking and biking ....... but even though gas is so expensive LA freeways are still PACKED as usual |

Gee.. Then we'd fill it up from some here in this biz :1orglaugh :1orglaugh:1orglaugh Seriously Walking or Biking.. Also combining the multiple trips into one is a good idea. I do that for 5-6 years now since I work from home... usually Thursday is the day I'm out going for all these things all at once |

I trust our government to do what is best for everyone, not just defense contractors, big oil and themselves. |
I burn 10-15 gallons a day on my jetski and usually jetski 3 days a week. But it's fun and i will do it even if gas goes 3x higher. People will always need gas, so we will always be bent over a barrel for it.

bike or walk... when not possible public transportation
