Realisticaly, if you had to leave the USA, where would you live and why?
Assuming you only speak english and could immigrate, what country would you move to?
Keep in mind how safe each country is, how realisticaly you could be happy and work there if you only speak broken local language, etc. |
I'd just move back home to Canada. It's not even a real country. You get a sampling of every other country in the world because they bring their culture and religion to it and REFUSE to conform to English lifestyle. So it's like living in 42 different countries at once. It just rains all the time.
So yea, I would move back home. |
did thailand and romania, headed back to romania tomorrow, working on the permanent move back to the states....

What gives? |
I've always kind of had it in my head that I would eventually move abroad, but never had a set idea where. Weird, right? Although one of my best friends moved to Japan recently, and she's been trying to convince me I should follow suite. I'm actually tempted to look into it.

France, or Scotland. Just happen to like the places. More peace and more days off through out the year...
|
Japan, cause i got this thing for japanese chicks.
|
Costa Rica :thumbsup
|
Either Spain or somewhere tropical. Costa Rica or Belize maybe.
|
Spain or The Netherlands
|
That's a question, I guess it's always a matter of what really motivates you to be there, how conform you are and what level of stereotype you require to feel comfortable.
Some cultures are also totally uncompatible with your mindset, I can feel a huge difference since I moved to Prague and was raised in a totally different culture environment. There are things you just can't swallow, what are those is fairly individual though. I would probably move to Norway or Canada as I have good experience with those places (traveled over 22 countries), latin America is what excites me too, but have no real experience with those places. |
Fiji, in a shack.....
|
Spain for me. Someplace on the coast line... Barcelona probably. I even told my family and co workers if I every come up missing and there is no body...
I am in Barcelona. I think an old southern gal would fit in really well! I did last year. |

new jersey, where the beer flows like wine
|
I'm not american but i visited NYC and NJ many times and stayed pretty long to understand that I'm European. Tho I liked New Jersey pace :)
|
I love France...
|
Either somewhere in the the South of France, Majorca, Crete or Corfu.
|
Switzerland maybe
|
Spain is great around Malaga area (especially driving inland)
or Thailand around Phuket (no no not for the 20$ pretty hookers....) Both places I could live but Spain has better internet connections :) |
Already doing the Costa Rica thing (although I'm Canadian)... Panama would be another choice.
|
If it was for work, maybe some place like Hong Kong. But if it was to retire or relax, maybe some place with a rich culture; France, Prague, Switzerland.

I live in Cancun. I have been living in Mexico for 4 years now. The first 3.5 in Baja just south of the border. We moved from there beacuse of the Climate and because of the crime. We are now in Cancun.
One thing to think of before you move, is how will you earn a living. IF the sky falls and you can not work in porn anymore, where will your money come from. A good graphics designer here can earn about 2k a month. A nice place to live is about 800 to 1k per month. Milk can be as high as 6$ per gallon, But gas is 2.69 per gallon. Think it over before you leave. |
Costa Rica - lots of english speakers, doesn't seem to hate the US, eco-friendly, good infrastructure, beautiful place beautiful weather, pacific and carribean close by, etc.
|
I'd go to Costa Rica. Affordable housing and beatiful women.
