Boston’s Children’s Hospital bills itself as the hospital for children — and now it’s also the hospital for children who want a sex change, a procedure some critics are calling “barbaric.”

Dr. Norman Spack, a pediatric specialist at the hospital, has launched a clinic for transgendered kids — boys who feel like girls, girls who want to be boys — and he’s opening his doors to patients as young as 7.

Umm, with all this talk about sex changes of kids, that brought to mind that I own the following related domains:

Getting back to the topic at hand, I'm amazed to the extent that public schools are being forced to accomodate kids changing gender - even in elementary school!

And worse, especially in the cases of pre-teen age kids, it appears it's more often the parents pushing harder for the gender change.

The cynical side in me thinks that hospitals, doctors, etc all throughout the country to further grow their bottom line will promote sex change operations for kids much the same most do for other types of elective surgery...

I'm sure the television ads for sex operations are coming soon, assuming they're not already running - they'll probably run them on the kiddie channels like Nick Kids too.

What baffles me is that the argument is simultaneously presented, that on one hand these kids are way too young to decide WHOM to have sex with, but on the other, they are old enough to decide WHAT sex to be altogether.
