Pinched nerve or minor stroke.

Hows the left side of your face feeling?

smooth as a baby's ass.....

nah, I ruled out the stroke possibility after about 5 hours of this.....

I get a similar feeling in the fingers of my right hand sometimes...probably from playing drums

Carpal tunnel for sure. I got it.

jollyperv 10-16-2002 02:39 AM

Falling from skating sure doesn't help it either...

It just went away? I was always under the impression it requires surgery. My mom had the surgery, said it was nothing.

I have had it for years now. Sometimes not so bad, sometimes hurts like hell.

What kind of mouse helped?

I have a friend who is an occupational therapist. She showed me what they do for CTS and dammit if it isn't quite effective for me:

- Extend your arms out to your sides so you look like a cross
- turn fingers towards the sky, palms away from you. You should feel a stretch running the length of your arms, shoulder to wrist.
- now, to stretch your right arm, very slowly turn your head to the left while simultaneously flexing your wrists deeper
- do the opposite for the left arm.

Go slow and keep your mind where you're stretching. This isn't stretching just tendons - it's stretching your nerve too.

:thumbsup

i switch between a ball style mouse, an optical (traditional) mouse, and a track pad.

i cycle through (in terms of major usage) each in a 3 month cycle. i couldn't use a mouse at all for a couple of months when it first became painful - i switched to a trackpad (you click with your thumb instead of a finger) for about half a year, and my hand began to feel better and better with time.

that was almost 3 years ago - now i rotate between all three, and i haven't had problems since then. i assume that using your hand differently over time is what is helping.

damn - stole my Idea LOL

it's probably RSI
(repetitive strain injury)
wank with the OTHER hand for a while !!!!!!!!!! :1orglaugh

you need a break!!!
Can't do anythign for it - just rest

if it was a pain down your whole arm then maybe it would be coming from your neck or back - but from the elbow ... nah that's just muscle strain

- try acupuncture
